Good all around tape

The tape is a good material that feels like it has some sort of coating. nylon possibly? I like that the hook can be used over or under something, and that the tape is readable on both sides. The recall spring inside could afford to be stronger, i find i have to persuade the tape to come back in sometimes. Also, the magnetic tip is a double edged sword for me. There have times when it is helpful, but most of time it ends up collecting metal dust and shavings that are on the floor of my job site. Nice idea, but on my next tape i think i'd rather do without.

Very nice! As a contractor, I use these daily. This one is very nice and at a great price. I love the way it doesn't retract too fast like most others. That can be very dangerous.

The first thing needed in any tool is reliability and in that critical dimension this Kolelon tape let me down. The tape feels great and works great until one day when it didn't. My particular unit failed after about 12 months of ownership and the tape wouldn't retract anymore. I'm a homeowner and may have used my tape the equivalent of 10 workdays for a tradesman in the 12 months that I owned it. I took it apart to no avail and tossed it in the trash. I may have received a uniquely bad one, but with my only data point being this one, I wasn't impressed.

The only thing I can say about this tape measure is that I Love it. It is made of a thicker guage metal so it extends further without bending than most tapes would. It has 2 thick magnets on the end so it strongly holds onto magnetic metals. The tape has measurements on both sides and it has a double sided hook so it will grip edges on either side of the tape and as a bonus It extends all the way out to 30'. Best tape measure I have ever owned and I have owned many as I use them daily. My tape measure is going on 2 years of daily rugged use and is still in Great condition.
not the best tape for an electrician

I bought this tape about a month ago and it took a few days to break in. The tape was somewhat buggy as far as letting tape out and retracting but that has been resolved after using it for a while. The standout on this tape could be better it is roughly 8-9 feet . The magnets are not strong enough to hold on to a metal stud and let tape out from across a room without detaching . This tape can take a beating I have dropped it a few times from a ladder with no ill effect. Other reviews of this tape mentioned the button lock not working very well I have had no problems with this issue. I will probably go back to a klein tape measure after this mainly because of the weakness of the magnets on this tape.
