I don't know why it took me so long to try GenTeal Tears. I have been battling Chronic Dry Eye for the past year, off and on, as it arises. It is the most annoying ailment to have between the gritty and stringy discharge resulting from a dry tear duct to the constant sensation of feeling like you have something in your eye.

CDE is maddening. I purchased both the PM formula and the daytime formula. Sadly, the tube for the daytime formula was damaged, so I have not yet been able to try it out. Amazon is replacing the tube and I should be able to try it out tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.

The PM formula though is a miracle, in my opinion.

The moment I applied as instructed I experienced immediate relief. That is not hyperbole, it is a solid fact.

The ointment, which you squeeze into your lower eyelid is thick. It is made of white petroleum jelly and mineral oil. It seems an odd thing to put into your eye and the first few seconds after applying is a horrid experience as your vision blurs as greasy oil literally coats it. Then, as you blink, you experience the amazing sensation of vanishing dry eye. Gone is the scratchy, itching, sticky sensation. It is replaced with the sensation of all-encompassing relief. Sweet, sweet relief.

I have tried all kinds of eye drops and have never found release from the discomfort of CDE. Until now. I was able to sleep through the night and when I awoke in the morning, my eye was still mostly fine. The PM formula lasted all night and I was able to sleep peacefully, free from discomfort.

I can't wait to try out the daytime formula. If it works anything like the PM formula, I will have found the miracle cure combination that has eluded my for this past year.

It is not as long lasting for me as Systane. I get a very dry eve due to non complete closure at night and i also use thick drops during the day. This was due to a surgical procedure. This will probably be fine for others but I am still searching for the product that will work best for me.

I have severe dry eye and usually use Muro 128 ointment. It is very expensive and hard to find these days so I went looking for something similar. This GenTeal Tears Lubricant Eye Ointment is fairly thick and concentrated. It makes the eyes blurry which is why it is for nighttime. The heaviness of it makes it last as I sleep.

Muro is thicker. When I use that, I can't see a thing for a long time. With this, my vision clears up quicker. Also Muro has an ingredient in it (basically salt!) to stimulate the tear ducts so they will make more tears on their own. This doesn't. Still, my eyes are much less dry when I wake up after using this ointment.

I use a small amount tucked into the pocket I make by pulling down my lower lid. I then close your eyes and let the ointment spread throughout my eye area. When I wake up, there is still a bit of residue from the ointment but I am very heavy handed with it. It doesn't affect my vison and wipes away with a tissue. For now, this is the ointment I will use nightly. When I speak to my ophthalmologist, I will see if there is another one that works more like Muro that I can buy or if this one is doing the trick. For dry eyes, this ointment is a big relief. Just use it at night because it does cloud the vision for a while.

The ointment helped me with my chronic dry eyes. I just wish the tube was bigger.

I have used this product for years. Recent eye exam was good in part to my regular use of this product. I wore contact lensed for 50 years. So I am used to taking regular care of my eyes. I now have used glasses for over ten years. You maybe doing math now! I will not even try another product. Very pleased. Sincerely, Sandy
