MERRY Christmas!
I've gotten out of the habit of writing reviews BUT Inhad to write one - I bought this as a last second "Santa" gift for my 4 year old, crossing my fingers he would like it.
He has a Strider bike and is intermittent on its use, had battery operated cars that use is also rare.
Typically he will spend a few minutes here and there, then boredom hits and then it's here and there usage from then on out.
But this thing he has been on for hours today - forcing his mother to dodge as she was emptying the dishwasher as he zooms around the kitchen and living room.
He loves it!
It also was very simple to put together - I noticed some said the directions were difficult or vague, but I must say, you don't really need much. The back wheels are labeled with a L and an R - the only thing may if you are unused to the way the bolt on the steering wheel works - think cement bolt or even drywall with the anchors that expand as you insert a screw - same premise. Use a socket set instead of what they give you so you can crank it down good and make sure you put the wide part of the handlebar to the front. It's very simple and easy - I didn't use a mallet as recommended but could see the need for some to need it.
Don't know how well it will last, but he loves it, has already spent more time on it then toys that cost many times more, and it hasn't marked up my hardwood floors - so he's happy, I'm happy and that's what matters.

Defective Product

I received the plasma car about a week ago, but didn't open the box, because it is a Christmas present for my son. It arrived in a regular Amazon box and the box was undamaged. I opened it today, finally, so I could assemble and wrap it. GLAD THAT I DID! There are scratches and fade marks, on the body of the toy and oil/rust on the connectors. I'd be SOOO upset if I had waited closer to Christmas to order/receive this item! I have sent it back for a refund and ordered a different one! I will update my review, once I receive my new product. Right now I cannot recommend.
Update 2/20/18: I originally gave this 1 star; however, I received a new plasma car (actually ended up getting it in the blue/red). It still had stress marks, but no oil build up. The car drives well. My 20 month old son is a little too young for it, but he enjoys when I steer with him on it. I replaced the wheels with Inline skate wheels (very simple), so the car makes no noise at all. The front wheel does tend to dip down and scratch the floor, when we ride it indoors, so beware.

Great, but could use accessories.

Great price and my daughter loves this. They have them at her daycare/preschool and they are fast and agile. They don't use them as intended but kick to get them going then put their feet up and steer. The steering is really responsive, and the higher front wheels help with the varying elevations of our sidewalks and changing surfaces. It obviously works better and quieter on smooth surfaces, but she gets around on the blacktop just fine and drags it over lawn and steps by lifting it up a bit. These are really great for toddlers, my 2+ yr old whips around on this thing like a race car driver.
Only suggestion would be to put a hole in the back to mount a flag for visibility or tie a rope for parents to have some more control over stopping for street use for little ones, or helping them stop on slopes. I recommend sneakers with thick rubber front because she wears the front of her shoes off on this from dragging her feet.

Today I jazzed this Lime green Original PlasmaCar with lime striped ribbons and a trio of helium balloons and presented it to our Grandson for his 3rd Birthday. He was all smiles and dancing around as he hopped on , trying to get the hang of driving. "Here let me show you ",said his Dad as he climbed aboard and took off around the family room. "No, Andy, I'll show him said his Mom, confiscating it. "You've almost got it" said Grandpa, there's a little trick to it" he said as he stepped in front of Mom's ride and took over. "Cut it out, give the poor boy his present will you, he can do this !" I said to Grandpa. I knew this because I had tried it before putting it in the car to head for the party. " Wiggle the wheel back and forth, there, you've got it " I said to our Birthday Boy. Off he went . "I can doood it !" he said.
He doood it. You can doood it too. This lime green PlasmaCar is strong, a lot of fun and kind of reminds me of some kind of carrier from the Starship Enterprise. Highly recommended.

Fun Outdoor Toy!

Purchased this for my son's second birthday, and it was his absolute favorite gift by far! He absolutely loves riding it up and down the driveway and on the sidewalk.
I love that it will grow with him, as he doesn't quite understand the "wiggle" feature of it (putting both feet on it and moving the handle back and forth to go forward). Right now, he's content to push off with his feet. The construction is durable, and the car came completely assembled!
Update: Four months after our initial purchase and this is HANDS DOWN the best birthday gift we gave our son. He uses it every single day and has the device completely mastered. It's fascinating to watch!
Update #2: We've reached a year since the initial purchase. Now that it's spring, our soon-to-be 3 year old STILL loves this toy. It's the first outdoor toy he grabs.
