A very attractive Podium
Excellent Inexpensive Stand Up Desk

I bought this lectern to try using as a stand up desk for my laptop computer in my home office. After setting it up, which takes a few minutes, I put my laptop on it and that's where it's lived ever since. I usually spend several hours a day at the computer, and I really like the results of standing during that time instead of sitting, especially feeling better muscle tone in my core.
The lectern is pretty solid and looks good, considering that it is made out of pressed board. The angle of the surface is excellent, and the black plastic stop that keeps things from sliding or rolling off seems solid and works great. My two main criticisms of it as a stand up desk are its height and width. After a few days I decided it was a bit low, so I put some sections of 2x4 under it and raised it 3 1/2 inches, which seems perfect for my 5'11" height. I use a 15" laptop with a mouse, and there is just enough room on the desk surface for my computer and a mouse pad next to it, but sometimes I wish it were wide enough to also hold a piece of letter sized paper next to the computer.
Overall I am really happy with this purchase. If you want an inexpensive standup desk for a computer, this is an excellent choice.

Came through in rougher shape than I was hoping for, lots of scratches and dents. It is one of those items that you dont want to pack back up after opening, because it would be such a pain. Really disappointed.
