Pretty, but not durable enough for the price
Auntie S•August 23, 2015
I loved the design of this bottle--so much prettier for serving salad dressing at the table. That is why I gave it two, not one, stars. It was functional too for awhile for mixing in the dressing ingredients and shaking them to blend. Alas, the rubber sealer/stopper that fits in the neck cracked and would no longer seal the bottle (and I hand-washed that part of it!). We threw it away and will not buy another at the very high price they charge for it now.
Looking for a salad dressing container? this is the way to go

So it's a pricey bottle for salad dressing, but if you make your own dressing frequently and are trying to avoid more plastic in your life, this is the way to go. It works as advertised, is well constructed, and looks very nice. Our only gripe is that the mouth is a little narrow for adding things like thick mustard to a dressing, but it's a compromise worth dealing with considering all the other pros. Great gift.
Nice elegant item for oils or dressing that have no large bits.

Pros:
Elegant,
Shape allows you to shake content to mix the oil without spill
Drip free
Con:
If you like making your own infused oil mix, pouring may not be as smooth. Due to narrow opening, bits kind of get in the way. But if you are only infusing flavors and oils and not leaving bits in there it should be fine. I just wanted to get a bit too fancy with it.
Advice: Always use paper towels to grab and remove the pouring tip when adding more oil.

Best designed salad dressing dispenser in the world
EJ•October 3, 2013
Okay, I haven't tried every salad dressing dispenser in the world. But this is the best I've ever used, by a long shot. It's also gorgeous!
The rubber plug assembly has two stoppers--one at the bottom to keep the contents airtight and another at the top to stop the metal tube used to dispense the dressing. When the inner part is removed, you have a tiny carafe--fairly wide-mouthed--like a mini wine carafe.
To make your dressing, you just remove the inner part and pour the ingredients in. Then put the inner part back in and shake. When you're ready to serve, take off the top rubber stopper and you have a gorgeous metal tube to dispense the dressing.
This is a huge improvement over others I've used which have narrow necks so I had to mix in a bowl with a whisk and then pour into the recipient with a funnel. The rubber stopper also is much easier to use and clean that cork dispensers on others I've used. And I love the two-cork design. You can shake vigorously and nothing leaks.
I also love that it's glass. I don't enjoy eating from plastic, even though I'm sure the better brands are bpa free.
I like this so much I am immediately buying another one. It will serve for times I have two kinds of dressing to serve.

Elegant and functional

So many salad dressing shakers try to do too much. They are covered in measurements, or recipes, or have fragile plastic mechanisms for mixing the dressing, or lids that are impossible to remove when oily. Or they leak. All of that stuff just complicates what should be simple. This shaker gets it right, and looks great on the table.
The shaker comes in three pieces: the bottle, the central stopper/spout, and the top cap. To fill, remove the stopper. To mix, replace the stopper and cap and shake. To pour, remove the top cap and pour through the spout. The spout even has a double rim to catch drips. If you have a chunkier dressing that won't fit through the spout, pull out the stopper and pour directly from the bottle. Since the cap is flat on top, you can turn the stopper over on its cap and set it down without getting anything oily.
I clean mine by putting in hot water and soap and shaking it. Rinse the parts with hot water and you're done.
