Wonderful server rack. Easy to assemble. Though it has plastic catches on the side panels that aren't very good...mine don't work.

Wish the company would give some thought to putting a filter system in the top of this unit with an attic like fan with thermostat so it would always have clean air coming into the unit. (I am a designer, and have some ideas on this issue if the company is interested in talking with me directly... [email protected])

Other than what I mentioned as my idea for a new revision... this is a Cadillac of cases... and perfect height. If I ever have the need I will purchase this case again.

I was very pleased when my Server Rack arrived, as it exceeded my expectations. The rack is solid and relatively easy to put together. My rack mount servers fit in perfectly without any issues or special adjustments to the rack.

I did have a few minor issues with installation, and hopefully these stories will help someone:

First, the phillips screwdriver provided (I didn't even realize it came with one, so bonus) was more of a sharp tip instead of a stubby tip; this meant my personal screwdrivers worked better for most of the screws used in installation.

Second, the bottom tray pieces were extremely difficult put in, as those particular holes were not pre-threaded. This meant forcing the screws to thread metal. Additionally, I had to move the rack-stand bars out of the way to ensure I could get enough force on them.

Third, the top cover panel didn't quite screw down properly all around; one corner was always off. I ended up taking a Dremel to one of the screw holes on the rear side, opening it up enough for the screw to fit properly. I believe at most it was 1/8" I ended up grinding off. Fortunately, the screw covers it up, so it's not even visible.

Lastly, There was a small plastic protection film on the key-turn portion of the lock (just the little circle). At first I thought it was just some brushed blue metal to give it a neat look, but I started scraping it off after using it. I prefer to remove all the protective plastic once I get an item in place - this one however required me to disassemble the lock to adequately remove the sealant. This was because the seal covered the sides of the lock as well, which were covered by the handle. This wasn't overly difficult to do, but someone unfamiliar with basic locks might have some difficulty removing this.

If you read all of that, it sounds like I ran into a lot of problems - but realistically they were all very easy to solve and didn't detract from the overall quality of the server rack. After minor installation hiccups everything is working great and my servers are happy to be finally sitting in a rack where they belong.

Love the product....packaging not so much. Have ordered this twice, and though the product was intact when received, the packaging appeared to have gone through a war zone. I'd have given it 5 stars except for this.

If you order this, you'll like the product, but MAKE SURE YOU'RE ON HAND TO RECEIVE IT IN PERSON.

Easy to assemble solid square hole rack. The rack arrived with enough cage nuts and mounting screws components to get started. The product itself arrived in perfect condition. Shipping box was a little damaged and probably only good for shipping to you. Once opened it would be difficult to put it back together if you had to return ship.

I don't know why the other reviews mention side panels and assembly. The cabinet arrived on a half pallet, fully assembled, and only has locks on the front and back. Removing the side panels is not an option (that I can see). It's a beautiful piece of furniture if you like light wood. Annoying that the front and back keys are different, as if my key ring isn't big enough.

I'm writing this so others may not make the same mistake I did. Note that the inside rails have a max of 21.54 inch. This means the SuperMicro servers I wanted to mount in here cannot be rail mounted. At that, the cabinet is about 6 inches too shallow to allow full air flow for a full length server, they fit but there is no room between the front and back.

It is not sound proof. I spent the extra money for the acoustic paneling because a 1u server is noisy and I have 3 in a cluster. I didn't want to listen to the hair dryers and I didn't want to pay for a colocation rental for a lab project. It does do a good job of knocking down the noise though, the resulting decibel levels are about the level of a network switch. It should work fine in a normal office environment.

Bottom line is I would buy this again with the caveat of planning for half depth servers like a Dell R220.
