I don't know why I bought this. I don't have any ammo (or a gun for that matter) but I thought this would be a great box to store some art supplies. It would be perfect if I were protecting art supplies from a nuclear blast or a meteor strike. It weighs a ton (should have realized that) and is very difficult to open and close (should have realized that, too.) So, the product is fine but not for what I was thinking.
They looked good and work great

I ordered three of these at first. When I receive them each one was box individually with solid tactical markings on each of the boxes. They looked good and work great. So I ordered two more a few days later. I received one of cans with no original box. It was just tossed into a large box with hardly any packing materials inside, so ammo can was just floating around banging inside the box. It was dented and the paint cracking at the dents. It looks as if I received a missing box returned item. It had some kind of description sticker on it.
Great Ammo Box

Box arrived quickly and I was surprised at how heavy duty it was. From my memory the army ammo boxes weren't this sturdy. It is heavy and it takes a little muscle to open the latch. It has a watertight seal and comes with a few desiccant packs. I'll be using it to store my handgun ammo and probably will buy another another one soon.
I highly recommend it and can't imagine there being anything much stronger out there.

Unconventional Use - But PERFECT

My father was a 27 year Marine Sniper and recently passed away. After retiring from the USMC in 1972 and for the next 35 years, he would reload ammunition as a hobby; in fact, the entire basement was his reloading room. I purchased this Ammo Can for my father as his Cremation Urn since I thought it was the perfect symbol, and represented who he was. I could not be more pleased with this Ammo Can; it is worth more to me than the most expensive Urn.
Meh, IMO not really worth $30.

While the construction is solid, it seems a little shoddy or at least rushed. Welds are not as neat as older cans I have, and far too much excess paint to peel off. No I am not a welder but I do have other older cans to compare this with. Kind of thought something that cost $3o+ would be better than the cans I can get at a surplus store for 15 or 20.
However as some people noted, I had NO rust in my can, and it opens and closes without issue. After being open for almost two days, the can still has a Very strong paint smell.
While completely usable, and my issues with the can are probably not the vendors fault, I will probably not buy from them again.
