I know. It's 2 am and you're tired and desperate to get your baby to sleep. Will this work? Maybe. For my 3 month old, it helped!! He loves the river water sound and it helps him fall asleep faster. Helps to drown out noise too. The other sounds have been helpful when we want to distract him in car rides. The only thing I wish is that there is an option to leave sound on constantly (vs 25 or 45 mins). Some of my friends told me their babies didn't respond to this- but I say give it a try!!! My son loves his giraffe. I love the convenience of being able to Velcro it to the car seat handle for when I'm running errands. The white noise sounds soothe him very well. We use it for sleep at bedtime, and can easily attach it to other baby equipment to use during the day, too. My older son has the sheep version, so I'm thankful this came in another animal since he still sleeps with his. This way there is no confusion as to whose animal is whose. My only wish is that there was more than 23 or 45 minutes for the sound to stay on.

So I originally bought this for my daughter to use as a sound machine when we aren't at home. I washed the lamb (which washes and dries great) and my daughter locked eyes with it and fell in love .... without the sound machine. So I just spent a whole bunch of money on just a stuffed animal, lol! She loves to chew on the velcro tabs on the back which hold the sound machine in. Maybe one day we will use it for its intended purpose.

My son used to cry every time we got in the car. The noise of the road and the engine wasn't enough to soothe him. With the white noise giraffe, he could snuggle up to its soft plush body and be soothed by the white noise. Alternatively, when he wanted to play or be active, the giraffe plays an assortment of interesting sounds, which really helped us (especially in restaurants or airports where there isn't a lot to do for a fussy baby).
