I have used these for years, but did not own one. They are almost impossible to find in the USA. The product was exactly what I was expecting, and not cheap junk that "looked good" in the picture. The weight and quality is the same as my mothers that is 25 years old. These tenderize the meat without destroying it, and significantly improve marination as well.

A friend has meat stake & poultry hammer, like Westmarks. Has no markings on it and aside from a differant handle it looks the same... Can't remember when it was purchased, thinks about 15 yrs ago or so. I have been looking for one for some time now. Finely found on amazon. I didn't know it had to come from England but thats ok I'm glad I purchased it... Regular meat tenderizers don't have the knives and just smash the meat and do not tenderize very well... In the USA there is a cut of meat called a CUBE STEAK & buchers put it throught a machine that has knives that do the same thing to the meat that the Westmark hammer does by hand for a lot less then a $1,000 dollar machine does... And you can lose a little stress from pounding the meat... I thought that it would take about a month and a half to get to me, Amazon's shipping estimation, when in fact less that 2 weeks and I made my first cube steak with it... YUM
Great for cubing, tenderizing and cutlets.

Nice sharp cubing feature. I just wish it was dishwasher save. Cast aluminum gets icky in the dishwasher.
