I bought this carrier to take my pet quail bird on a vacation I was going on. The cage was the perfect size for the animal to spend a week in. It had plenty of room for its food and water and to walk around, lay down, hop a little, etc.

Although this might normally be used for much shorter term housing, I chose this size specifically for a longer trip. I have a smaller cage that is less than half this size that is ONLY for holding the bird while it's large main cage is being cleaned. This was the right size.

It was easy for me to carry when I needed to move it, it fit just right in the car, and my bird had no problem with it. I'm glad it was just what I needed.

It's sturdy, easy to clean, folds down easily when not in use, it was the right size and the carry handle worked fine(although I always usually kept my other hand underneath the pan of the cage, just in case...)

Like many other reviewers, I agree that you shouldn't trust the very simple way the cage part snaps into the plastic. However, we easily fixed the bottom with zip ties and have decided to just carry it like a box and not use the handle. We bought it to transport our cockatiel to the vet and it gives her plenty of room to turn around in and be comfortable. So, for our purposes, this is great and almost perfect.

It's okay for a temporary moving of your bird, but I would secure it at the bottom as a precaution & it may be a bit small for the larger birds that are pictured on packaging. Check measurements thoroughly for your size fid.

A little smaller than I expected. I use it specifically for my cockatiels vet visits, and with the little perch attached, the crest feathers on my tiels head sticks out the top. I wouldnt install the perch at all, but it keeps him from stepping on his poop, which is a plus. It measures approx. 16 1/4" long by 10" wide by 9" high. The door opens at the top, as shown in the photo, and because he is a flyer, it gets a quite difficult to put him in (he gets claustrophobic, i think). It would be better for me if they made these types of doors on the sides of the cage, considering how small it is already. Another problem I have is the little "grooves" on the floor. This makes wiping his poop a little harder, as they tend to "stick" between that raised edge and the floor itself. I would line the bottom with newspaper, but the last thing I want is for him to shred a piece of newspaper, in his mouth, that had a little poop on it, so to avoid that whole situation, I just wipe it as it happens.
All in all, its okay for those quick vet visits and transporting, but I personally will consider something just a little bigger for my cockatiel next time.

This is perfect for what I need it for, Temporary Travel situations. I actually have 2 of these. One for my cockatiel and one for my Indian Ringneck. Both are young birds and this cage is great for short traveling (to the vet, etc.). This is NOT a suitable cage size for ANY bird. But great for small bird travel.

So, I was so happy with the first one, that I ordered a second one. I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED. The cage came ridiculously bent (the bars), I had to carefully try to bend them back into place as best I could (still is super bent but they are close enough together to where my ringneck parrot can't get out during visits to the vet.
On top of it all, it Did Not come with a handle or perch! :( I'm going to have to figure something out. I would return it, but I need this next week for a veterinarian visit and don't have time to wait for the replacement :( What a Bummer :(
