Loud ringing can hear outdoors for a long distance. Need at least a 20 gauge hook up wire if you locate it more than ten feet from a standard phone jack. Very satisfied with purchase

I'm very happy with this outdoor bell! I've tried many different ones that were cheaper in price, but was always very disappointed in the results. They just weren't very loud. I decided to spend a little more (with my fingers crossed) and try the "Wheelock Bell". It sounds great and loud when I'm outside and the phone rings. Perfect for me.

was just what i wanted, It was maid out of steel, and not plastic. When the phone rings I can even hear it in the cow barn.

It is loud. We have had several buzzers and bells in our factory. The very old one we purchased from Bell Telephone in the dinosaur age was very loud...the loudest of all...truly industrial. When it eventually broke we went through a series of units from various companies, all of which were useless and caused us to miss numerous phone-calls. But this bell you can here. It is a little odd sounding and a bit alarming, but you can really hear it, and that is the point.
