Great scope!

This stethoscope is amazing! i also have a Littmann cardiology 4, and I can almost hear about the same with both. there are two downsides with this model however, one being that this is a HEAVY stethoscope. the chest piece weighs the thing down and it slides off your neck pretty frequently. The second thing being, that the pediatric portion of this stethoscope twists off, and you can twist on a bell that comes with it. the issue with this is that if you have long hair and wear it down, your hair gets caught in the twist off portion and rips/pulls your hair. other than those issues, this stethoscope is great! amazing sound quality :)
Not hardy enough

The replaceable ear pieces are fragile and tears appear frequently with use, requiring foam tape fix or new ear piece purchases. Tube got quite stiff after only about 2 yrs use. I had a an older ADC scope which lasted longer and did not have the earpiece fiascos. Also the rubber guard on bell slips off all the time and I find myself looking in pt's beds and elsewhere when I lose it.
CANT REALLY RECOMMEND IT.

I'm an emergency room doctor and had a Littman Cardiology III for four years until I lost it. The sound quality is very similar and it is notably louder - a benefit for the ER. It is a smudge heavier than the Littman, but they are both heavy compared to single-sided scopes. Very impressed. It's a great deal.
All the bang for half the bucks.

I had a Littmann Cardiology III stethoscope, and loved it. I have difficulty hearing soft noises, particularly over background noise. As you can imagine, this is not a happy trait for a paramedic. My Cardiology III "disappeared" recently, leaving me without a good 'scope. Having used ADC previously (ADC 615), I knew they made good products. I found the Adscope 601, and it looked like a Cardiology III in the pictures. One of the big selling points for me was that the 601 was about half the price of the Cardiology III. Once I got the 'scope, I found it to be virtually indistinguishable from the Cardiology III. The earpieces are the same, and seal nicely into my ears. The bell is nice and heavy, and I like the dual head, since I deal with a lot of kids. If anything, the tubing is even thicker and heavier than the Littmann. I can hear very well through it, just as well as I could with my Cardiology III. I've let several other medics and EMTs at work listen with it as well, and they all love it. If you're looking for a very solid, very good 'scope at lower cost, and brand recognition isn't that important to you, I'd go with this 'scope. If I could improve it, I may suggest making the tubing a little shorter.
Excellent sound quality!

Excellent quality. I debated between this and a littman cardiology but did not want to pay the littman price so I decided to give this a try off of my co-workers advice. I had the littman lightweight and all of my patients lungs sounded diminished and their heart sounds were distant. This stethoscope is amazing and I can hear everything perfect. I am so glad that I went with this scope and saved $100. I am getting ready to finish my FNP and will continue to use this scope as my primary.
