I need background noise in my office when I am working. I wanted something that included not only AM/FM radio but also a CD player that had a small footprint. This item filled that need perfectly. It has a great sound quality and takes up very little room on my desk top. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the remote control. It is small and black in color with 14 buttons but the labels for the buttons are printed in a dark gray color making it nearly impossible to read them. I either have to use a very bright light to see which button is which or refer to the owner's manual. I have managed to memorize some of them but it gets frustrating when I push a button thinking I am changing the volume only to change from AM to FM or vice versa. But other than the remote this is a great little stereo unit.

Medium quality sound, but fine for the purpose of having something compact in my office. The upright door could go a little higher which makes the discs a little hard to get in and out. Look is nice. Comes with a stereo cable for connecting to something with a headphone jack. I play my ipod nano through it. Have to pump up the volume though as opposed to playing a cd. Two biggest annoyances are power cable length and the blue display stays lit all the time even when the power is off. Overall it's a nice unit for its price.

I bought this for my mother in a nursing home. I wanted something with decent sound quality, AM/FM, a lower price and was easy to work. The unit is all plastic and it looks a bit on the fragile side, but of course this is built at a low price point. The remote has a good range, but is very small which in turn makes the buttons very tough to see what they control. Perhaps until you memorize them anyways. The clock is small as are the read outs on the stereo face. The stereo read out, by the way, has a bright blue light which would make a great night light, ha. The stereo radio puts out adequate sound quality, for me anyways, even with plastic boxes for the speakers. I am no high fidelity freak! When the volume is put at mid range (13 of 30) it will fill a small to medium sized room in any house. At higher (20 of 25) levels it is very loud and brings moderate distortion. So do not unknowingly set the alarm with it on a loud volume setting. The volume at 3-5 of 30 it is barely audible. I do not know how long each component of this will last, radio, CD player, remote and speakers. It is warranted for 90 days but I also took out a three year protection plan and with that the system still only cost me under 60 dollars.

Still exploring the device but I am finding it very functional and works well. I like that it is compact.

WOW! For everyone out there reading this, this is my first time writing a review! This system is decent for small rooms. It isn't supposed to rattle windows like my living room surround sound system. Nice in a bathroom while taking a long hot bath with your favorite cd or in your office room organizing paperwork. I am no tech person but the manual was a bit frustrating presetting radio stations. I have been doing a bit more catalog shopping and of course amazon and ALWAYS read reviews. It's about time I start giving my experiences also. It is a good little system so far and thank all of you that writes a review because i have had garbage delivered in the past because i did not read the reviews.
