I used this back in 2008 before my wedding to help me shed the last 15 pounds, and it worked beautifully. So naturally I was concerned when I read the recent reviews suggesting it doesn't work as well any longer.
Here's the deal: It seems like there might be a fault in the actual capsule, not the product.
I took an Alli pill the normal way with a VERY fatty meal, and NO side effect.
Last night I tried something new: I cut the tip off of the capsule, swallowed it (BEFORE I ate, ALWAYS right before you eat!), and BOOM. Let's just say, this morning I KNOW it works. Gross, but true. So if you want it to work, cut the tip off the capsule (CAREFULLY, or you will lose bits of the magic alli particles).

Alli just doesn't work very well any more. It was great a few years ago but something seems to have changed. Ive switched over to Orlistol -Weight Loss Aid and Diet Pill Inhibits the Absorption of Carbs and Fats and so far it is quite superior, and a better price. If Alli doesn't work for you anymore, try orlistol.

Alli is not a magic bullet, but with the proper diet and exercise, it has helped me lose 88 pounds. Yes, there are unwanted side effects if you eat too much fat (gas and oily stools mainly). But knowing those side effects would happen if I ate too much fat kept me away from really fatty meals. I will continue to take this as I try to lose my last 20 pounds or so.
