Good hoist for your bikes

Fairly easy to install. Worked good for hoisting an adult bike off the garage ceiling. The pulleys don't work too well and I feel that the nylon ropes and pulleys should be larger to make it the best system for hoisting. Can not mount pulley plates directly to ceiling joists....too wide....I mounted them to 2X6 15" boards with the included screws and then mounted the 2X6s to the ceiling joists...worked great. Use 3" lag bolts with washers for a solid mount. With the pulleys and rope included, I don't think I would try to hoist more than 75 to 100 pounds. Good luck!

Great way to get bikes or other items off of the garage floor AND very affordable... love them and my 2 of my neighbors liked them so much that they bought some as well. You can be creative and use them to elevate more than just your bikes. I highly recommend these hoists. I have read other reviews before I bought mine about using different rope bc the included rope is cheap or not sturdy enough. I find this to be very untrue. Maybe they got a bad batch? Buy with confidence.

Quick shipping, product is "okay" for the price. No bearings in the pulleys, just plastic on metal (will wear out over time). The pulleys have excessive space between the bracket that holds them and the side of the pulley, this may cause an issue if the rope is not properly aligned. Brackets are nice thickness seems strong enough for a heavier mountain bike.

I now own three RAD lifts, and love them. My only gripes are that a) the included rope is of very poor quality (I'll likely be replacing all three next spring), b) the rope lock is finicky and snug enough to wear on the rope a bit (though that may just be the poor rope), and c) the hooks are so light that lowering them when empty is a chore (must lower one, hold it, then lower the other).
Still, I find the quality more consistent that other brands that friends have purchased, and all of those issues can be solved by replacing the rope with better quality, slightly narrower line,and by attaching small weights to the hooks, if that aspect is an issue for you. For many, the lowering issue will not be a problem, since they'll just leave the empty hooks down anyway.
If RAD were to add some weight to the hooks and include better rope, they'd have a five star product on their hands (even if they raised the price a dollar or two to compensate).

These are freakin' awesome! I'm not particularly handy, but I had no issue installing these. I was able to hang 4 of them in under a couple hours. The space saving is great!
