Starting point for my attempt to customize a pattern

I have an odd shape, if a jacket fits my shoulders it's too big around the middle. Having the jacket altered usually adds so much to the cost that it's not financially feasible. I wanted a jacket pattern for a starting point to customize so that it doesn't look like a feed sack. I'm very likely in way over my head.
