I've seen tape get made. It's made one huge roll, then, cut into the smaller consumer sizes. This thing seems like it was rolled one roll at a time. Meaning the edges are not cut uniformly, so the plastic wrapper is stuck to the edge pretty bad.
That bring said, it is awesome tape. Not a serviceman so I can't speak on authenticity of true 100 mph tape, but I'm impressed with it.
I got it just to have good duct tape around and needed to tape a hose that will take months for replacement to come in. So far it's holding up. It's only been hours, but lots of dust gets on this hose (table saw) and so far it's not moved or shown any signs of needing replaced, and I put a small amount. So far best tale I've used on this hose. I may buy another roll because it is nice.
For mlst applications, that don't require temperature or crazy waterproofing, is go with gaffer tape over this, as it is quite strong and if you ever need to take the tape off to start over, you'd have a mess, from what I can tell so far. Very good duct tape though, no complaints other than the plastic sticking.
