This is a really nice cable tester and it does everything we need at our work. There are testers which are more expensive and some that are much cheaper, but Fluke is a solid name and they make a solid product. This is a great mid range cable tester and will do what most people need without having to spend over $1000. We primarly are currently using it to help us trace and certify CAT5 that was run by another group and is a real rats nest. Being able to trace the cable, tell the length, and certify it is good in one tool is awesome.

It's not a Cadillac, and it doesn't have the most features. But for the day-to-day troubleshooting that we do the most, it's a solid work-horse, with all the right features, and certainly the right price. For this price point I don't think we could ask for anything more. I keep it in my office, and my guys are borrowing it constantly. BTW, this is a replacement. The batteries gave up the ghost in the last one and the acid took it out, so we required another.

I bought this because my Fluke Nettool did not like POE. This is basic as far as network functions. Wont read IP, DHCP, etc, but is probably the best cable tester and toner available.
