Rust proof shovels. I love it.
So well built and makes transplanting easy.

These are probably the highest quality gardening tools available. They are pricey but I feel well worth the price for the serious gardener, They were recommended by a very serious gardener who has been maintaining a large community garden for more than a decade and knows what works and what does not work. He does lots of transplanting and finds this tool rugged an essential part of his must have garden tools. It should last a lifetime if well cared for.
My perfect (so far) garden shovel

LOVE this garden shovel!! It really helps save energy and works great. I've been able to dig and plant way beyond what I thought I could. The ergonomic design really works. The spade easily cuts through dirt and the side foot platforms really help you put some "uumph" to get lower in the ground. Really easy to clean and compact to store. I will definitely be buying more Radius Garden products.
Best gardening tool purchase I've ever made

My garden is nothing but rock filled soil and tight plantings. For years I made do with the shovel I had acquired from my parents' gardening stash which must have been bought off of a ditch-digger in the 60's. It was a 5ft tall pole with a wide blade, and with it I either jarred my hands hitting rocks with every scoop, or I accidentally destroyed the roots and/or leaves of nearby plants. And of course it was fun whenever I tried to pry a rock out and smacked myself in the face with the extra long handle.
I love my garden, but I had come to dread planting, so spring 2 years ago I finally got smart and bought this. The blade slides between rocks and plants to exactly where you want it, and the short rounded handle lets me put my full weight behind prying rocks from the ground. I could smack myself for not buying this sooner but I figure I've already done that. Now the annuals that once took the better part of an aggravating afternoon to plant take a couple of hours at most. Dividing the giant overgrown mounds of iris and hosta? No problem. My back doesn't hurt, my nerves aren't shot, no head wounds, and no plant casualties. Now rather than angrily hurl the rocks I dig up I have made from them a curving garden border. My zen is restored.

Basically perfect in every way.

Not too heavy for a small woman, but with enough heft to really move some earth. The head has 2 places for you to push with your feet as well. I LOVE the padded handle -- gloves aren't even necessary for most tasks. It's so sharp that I accidentally sliced a tulip bulb in half, and the cut edge was as crisp as a knife cut. I used to use a big chef's knife to cut roots before transplanting with a shovel, but with this tool I just dig right in.
