Nice looking diaper pail, but issues with odor escaping from it

I've had this diaper pail for almost 2 years now. It's very nice looking and it does the job of containing the diapers (does have lock latch on top to prevent toddler from getting into it!), but we've recently started having issues with the smell escaping from it. We use the Dekor Refills and while I appreciate that you can tie the bags off as you go, the smell is not well contained. I've started having to use Lysol Spray to get rid of the smell and letting it air out for a day. At $55, it is a nice looking diaper pail, but I am not sure I would buy it again based on the smell issues we've been having.

Loved it so much we purchased a second one for our twin boys. We keep one in the nursery and one next to a changing station in our bedroom. I am very sensitive to smell and this diaper pail when used correctly (with the proper liner) holds in ALL odors. The liners are easy to change & the bags do not go to waste since you can change out the liner after 2 diaper changes or after 20.
It is also more attractive than other options that are out there. I highly recommend this product.

Too small for cloth diapering

We have used this since our son was a newborn. The first few weeks we used disposable diapers and then switched to cloth after his umbilical cord stump fell off.
Pros:
We have never had an issue with smell.
The bag system for disposables seems clever (I have nothing to compare to).
I like that there is a child lock for the lid, my son is only 6 months but I can already see that this will be helpful.
Cons:
There is not enough space for two days worth of cloth diapers and wipes. We use Flip covers and inserts, which compared to pocket diapers and all in ones seems small. The wipes take up some extra space but not a ton.
The screw on the inside of the lid (associated with the lock?) is rusted.
On someone's recommendation we pair this with Planet Wise pail liners, it is not a good match. The liner does not stay well. The pail liner made for this product might work better.
Occasionally the lid gets stuck in an up position.

Love this diaper pail so much that I bought two- one for disposables and wipes, another for cloth diapers. We are 7 weeks in and both are holding up beautifully. I love that there is no smell from either pail, and we let ours go a lot longer than we should between changes (literally diapers piling up so the lid won't close properly). Baby is on exclusively breast milk, so we will see how these do once we move to solids.
The pails looks great in the nursery, and I love that there are multiple colors to choose from.

The lid won't close with a reusable liner installed.

Why won't the lid close? I have both the classic pail and the plus pail and with the reusable liner in the classic pail I have no problems. With the plus pail when I put the reusable liner in, the lid won't close. I thought that I maybe got a faulty model so I exchanged it. I got the new one today and I'm having the same issue. Why won't the lid close with the reusable liner? I know it's not the liner because it works fine in the classic pail and it is the liner that is designed for both the classic and plus pail. I love the classic pail and I'm hoping there is a simple resolution, if that were the case then I would give it a 5-star review because everything else about it is great but with the lid not closing, that's a deal-breaker for us!
