I've jest received my B&K Precision 1671A 30v,5A. From a precision power supply I expect to be able to vary the voltage and current in a fine manner, unfortunately the PSU does not have a fine adjustment for the voltage or for the current. The finest control I managed to do was about 0.3V in which large number of low end power supplies can do better than that.
Another thing to be aware of is that only one of the triplet outputs is adjustable, the other 2 outputs are fixed; 5V @ 0.5A and [email protected] .From a $218 device I expected a well finished unit, an unpleasant to see is that the current limiting LED was not installed correctly in its place, it was not in its housing, I was able see half of the LED only!
To view digits on the LCDs, you need a good light in the room; the blue frame on the front panel adds a shadow that makes it even more uncomfortable to see the readings on the LCD.
In conclusion the price of this power supply is way too much; in my opinion this unit shouldn't be more than $150.

I've had this unit for about two years now. I mainly used it to work on class projects, but now it's great for troubleshooting things around the house. I mostly use the variable output because of the current limiting feature (for safety). It hasn't had any problems so far and I would recommend B+K products for their great value.
