So good the previous owner kept some parts!
BusyBee✓ Verified PurchaseApril 8, 2018
My rack came with *only one* support stay instead of the two pictured, and it's got a right angle bend in it. The product is scuffed on the bottom as if someone has tried to mount it before.

It was listed as new.

I don't care if it's a restocked item, so long as *all* of the parts are included, and, they're not bent because someone tried an exotic mounting procedure :)

I'm not even going to bother returning this, instead I'll order some replacement stays off Planet Bike's site, or just fabricate my own from some aluminum or mild steel stock.

The product it's self is actually pretty good as far as I can tell. Tubular aluminum with welds that look like they penetrate deeply so it should be solid. I chose this design because it had the fewest number of failure points that I could see (unlike some of the more universal fit/adjustable racks on amazon)
Great little rack and very sturdy

Great little rack and very sturdy. The lower mounting holes on my bike are poorly placed, and I had to add spacers between the rack and dropouts to clear the chain stays (which is a design flaw in the bike that any rack would contend with), and I was able to bend the rack out slightly to make this accommodation. I really happy with how rigid it is (using lower mounting holes and the upper clamps since I have no upper mounting holes). Even with heavily laden panniers from grocery shopping, there's no perceptible oscillation to interfere with the bike's handling.

When I first installed it, there was a little bit of a buzz. This was from the rear side of the upper mounting brackets vibrating. I cut a 1 inch section out of an old tube for each mounting bracket, slid it over the back of it (completely hidden from sight), and made sure the bolts were properly tightened, and it is completely quiet.
Very easy install. Worked well with my mountain bike and was able to install a child bike seat on it. Pictures in my review.

Mounted this on my Trek mountain bike. My bike is from around early 2000 so I wasn't sure if it would work.

There are multiple mounting holes on my bike so this was a breeze to install. It took about 25 minutes to install. I was installing this so I could use a child bike seat on it. The reason I went with this rear rack over others was because this one was was rated at 55 lb limit where as many others only had a 20 lb limit.

The rack came with all hardware necessary to mount it to your bike. There is also a spot to mount a reflector on the back of the rack.

After mounting, I gave it a good test before mounting my child bike seat on it. It didn't budge an inch. Mounting the bike seat was very easy. I used the Thule Yepp Nexxt Maxi Seat with this rear rack.
Easy install, high quality.

Installed on a mountain bike with relative ease. The kit is well constructed and light. At first, I thought I was going to have to send it back because it appeared too narrow to fit over my rear dropouts, but there's plenty of play in the metal.

Also, my bike has mounting posts for a rear rack, but again, they were much wider than the adjustable upper stay attachment brackets that came with the kit were.

It explains in the clear instructions that you may have to manipulate the upper stay brackets to fit your bike. Mine was wide enough that it required me to stick the brackets in a vice and slightly bend them. Easy to do.

Long story longer, it took me a little bit of time but it seems to have every size bike covered with their installation system.

Even if you don't have upper rack mounts like mine does, they have you covered. They supply rubberized "p brackets" so that you can still mount to your frame.

Just an all around top notch product. I'm glad I didn't get one of the others available.
Seems like a good sturdy rack

This went on a 1979 26" Schwinn beach cruiser. Obviously, everybody's experience will differ, depending on what kind of bike you have. In my case, I was able to install it with all of the hardware that came with it, right "out of the box", so to speak. I was missing one nut though. Luckily, I had an extra of the same size sitting in my tool box. It should be noted that I had to remove the rear wheel in order to install the rack. The instructions said to use the short screws to attach to the bottom of the frame and the long screws to attach the clamps at the top of the frame. However, I did the opposite because the short screws were not long enough to go through the rack and the frame. This presented two issues: 1) The long screws were adequate to attach the rack to the bottom of the frame but I needed to cut the ends off with a hack saw so that the one on the sprocket side would clear the sprocket and chain. 2) It was a real pain getting the holes lined up on the clamps at the top of the frame and getting the nuts threaded on those short screws. At face value, this seems like it should have been an easy install that should have only taken 10 minutes but realistically, it was pretty cumbersome for the reasons stated above. I'm glad I was able to install with the hardware that came with it and that I didn't have to fabricate anything. It seems pretty solid.
