This unit is a replacement for our old Whirlpool double filtration system which was damaged in the course of installing a new sink. The old unit worked OK but had a very low flow rate. The cartridges cost $45 and he automatic sensor in the tap would have me changing them way more often than really necessary. I assume the sediment filter, which I really don't need, restricted the flow excessively (I didn't have a choice about getting this feature). This Culligan unit is a pleasant surprise. Not only does the water flow many times greater, it aerates the water as well. All the northern Florida chlorine and sulfur tast and smell is effectively removed. Installation was easy, except that there were no specific instructions for installing it with a predrilled 1 1/2" mounting hole. Also, the supplied 1/2" T-fitting didn't work with the 3/8" flexible connectors on my cold water line. I had to go to Lowes for a $10 fitting to replace it. Anyway there weren't any leaks or fuss otherwise. Oh yea- the replacement cartridge is on Amazon for about $12!!!

Easy slip on water line connections. Great customer service if you have a problem installing it. If you call after hours you can leave a message and someone will get back to you the next morning. My problem was that it would not pass water through the filter. A guy called the next day and said that it was a common problem with that unit. Turn it a little tighter. Problem solved. I will, however, start doing bench presses before I tackle another home improvement project. It is nice having a dedicated spigot for drinking water. I wasn't using my sprayer, so I just mounted it there. Looks great, The spigot is movable and could be bent a little for better aim at the center of the sink. The price is great for this. Note: there are different filters available for different particulates.

When I first turned it on no water came out. After disassembling it I discovered the first problem... the filter has a tab on it, and when you insert it and twist it until it stops, it doesn't move the internal valve far enough to turn on the water. I was able to fix this by cutting a piece of the locking tab off the filter. Once I got past that issue I found that water began to squirt out of a small hole in the filter holder, so I sealed that hole and finally (after 2 days of grief) got the filter operating properly... then after about 5 weeks a very fine clay-like residue began to come out of the tap, which I could see sticking to the inside of my drinking glass and feel on my teeth. In short, the so-called "filtered water" was completely undrinkable, and I was forced to throw this product in the trash and buy a more expensive high-quality unit that works right.

Great System! Was easy and simple to install. You can check out our full installation video on YouTube StatUpBox. One of the great things about this filtration system is that it can filter up to 3,000 gallons of water or 12 months of filtering which ever comes first. For a regular household this would be more than enough. The taste is great. We really liked the separate faucet and the price. Its great to know that the replacement filter is also very economical. If you want to check out my full review you can check out my YouTube channel statupbox. overall I can say I would give this item two thumbs up!! After installing, if your not getting water, make sure your filter is completely in the lock position (turning filter clockwise into housing until you hear extra click or arrows are aligned) which allows the water to flow freely throughout the connected 1/4" tubing and filter. I ended up uninstalling and then reinstalling to troubleshoot until i realized the cartridge was not completely secured. It comes with a 1/2" T-adapter to connect to your existing under the sink water line\shut off valve but I needed a 3/8"x3/8"x1/4" T-adapter which I purchased with a separate shut-off valve to the 1/4" quick connect tubing found here https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003YKF2JC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Highly recommend!
