Great product

Great product. Went to use this putting in the new plastic pipe (pex) instead of copper and worked great. Saved me so much time! Looks great too. A good long term investment.
Plumbing isn't the place to save money

I was nervous when I opened up my shower wall and found plastic water tubes instead of the copper I expected (and am used to), but I was committed to installing a new electronic shower valve as part of a master bath shower overhaul, so I needed the tools. I've learned that getting the cheapest tool isn't usually the smartest thing to do, and when you're talking about water pipes that will be hidden behind the wall - well, saving a few bucks now could lead to spending thousands later.
This worked perfectly every time. The new shower valve went right in, and it's been over a week between doing the crimps and putting up the new cement board - not the smallest drip. I'm happy with it. I may never use it again, but I'll keep it in the garage, just in case.
Well worth the extra bucks!

I've used the local ones and this is by far the way to go. It's stronger, easier to use, has multiple fitting sizes, relatively lightweight, and positively crimps.

All connections came out perfect - no leaks

I am just chiming in with another up-vote really. The other reviewers have already told the story. I used this while replacing all the copper in a house - so about 100 connections +/-, 1/2" and 3/4". All connections came out perfectly fine - no leaks, no hassles. All materials were Vega brand from the local plumbing supply - this likely improved the probability of success. I would not put too much stock in the "removal" tool - it doesn't open wide enough for a 3/4" ring. The guage is ok, but only needed if you can't see the made-up connection - if you can see it, you can tell if it came down parallel to the center-line without using the guage.
