Worked exactly as expected! Used on a smoker I built; where I welded fire box to main drum... you can see it in my video...

This stuff is useless. I bought this large tube hoping that I could use it for several years. The first time I used it, first it came out like water and some sprayed on the floor. Fortunately it landed on a tile floor, so I could clean it off. After that, it came out in very small globs, almost a hard caulk. I had to spread it with a tool. The pieces of gasket that I attached using the watery liquid seem to be holding ok. The one which I attached with the small globs is loose after 2 days.
It also leaked all over the caulking gun and on my hands. I was able to clean it off the caulking gun and I had gloves on. But it made quite a mess.
I will never buy this product again. I have used another brand in the past (Meeco) which came in a small container (not in a caulking tube) and it worked very well. Unfortunately, that product is no longer available in our local stores. That's why I thought I would try this product.

Needs to be a faster curing time.

I would have given this more stars but the curing time for this is tooooo long. When I replace my gasket, it never seems to be be in the off season but during the burning season. This product needed 12 hours to cure then a day by day thing exposed to heat up to 500 degrees to finalize the curing process. I cannot leave a door off my wood stove for days while it's heat my home. I put this on, the new gasket and let the door sit for 30 minutes then installed it on the wood stove with a small fire for the next 24 hours. I increase the fire afterwards and I could smell this product curing from the heat. Whether is cured correctly or not I do not know but the gasket is still in place and the door is sealed.

So far this stuff has held up great. We have had a lot of trouble with new gaskets not staying put for long. We ordered this along with the Rutland Grapho-Glas Woodstove Gasket Rope and have been very happy with both. Have only been installed for a couple of months but both seem to be holding up well.
Pay a WEE bit more and get this good stuff.

Adhesives that are rated to lower temps do not work well for me. My Buck Stove requires a door rope gasket replacement once in a while and I could not find the Hi Temp adhesive locally so I settled for one rated around 600* F. My new rope gasket let go after three firings. I let it cure for about a week before the first firing.
Rutlands 2000*f ADHESIVE was the answer. I used a new rope gasket as the other one that released had hard spots from the other adhesive.
Not only to I recommend it for wood burners, I will definitely use it again. You sure get what you pay for.
