"Velcro"-style hook-and-loop fasteners have been around for quite a while and most companies can get them right, as 3M did here. The important thing to note here is that this is an indoor product rated up to temperatures of 120F. That means you have to be careful about using it on things that would end up in attics or out-buildings that can heat up during the summer months. I would expect that the adhesive might soften at higher temperatures.

If you have an indoor job like sticking cushions down on furniture or preventing your dry erase markers from getting separated from the whiteboard, this stuff should work for you.

This is not standard velcro (now usually referred to a hook-and-loop because of trademark issues), but it's not heavy duty mushroom 3M Dual Lock Reclosable Fastener TB3550 250/250 Black, 1 in x 10 ft (1 Mated Strip/Bag) either. It fits somewhere in the middle as the hook/loop is secure, but not crazy secure that you need a lot of strength to remove it either. The tape is flexible enough that you don't have to mount it on a perfectly flat surface, unlike dual lock tape.

Amazon's price for ten feet of length is reasonable. 3M's strength is in adhesive products, so I would expect the seal to last well over time (at least in indoor environments, as this product is rated for.) I'd like to see a little more information on the packaging about the rubber adhesive -- 3M usually has some scientific properties listed on their adhesives when you can identify by name or model number -- but that's not really here. I'm docking one star for this. It seems as if this SKU is mostly meant for consumer rather than industrial consumption, but I could be wrong, and perhaps there is more detail elsewhere. Nonetheless, the front of the package notes the closure life is 5000 cycles, which does sound quite impressive (mushroom tape is only rated for 1000 cycles, for example.)

It fits in all the same places as my Velcro brand hook-and-loop but seems more heavy-duty, so I'll keep this for the areas with more frequent sticking and unsticking.

I am going to assume that velcro is a trademark and that is why this is called hook/loop. I'm not sure if 3M wants to hear velcro like but that was what came to mind when I opened this. Regardless of nomenclature, this is good stuff. It applied easily and is holding my headphones on the front of my computer. I like having things organized and this should help a great deal. You get 10 feet for $18.00. I lightened the hook and loop so you could see it on the photo. I applied it to a hook and it holds the headphones where I want them.

It really sticks to surfaces, I have used a lot of this product and 3M is the best.
