Bad customer support
Amazon Customer•September 20, 2017
I decided to replace my evah pirrazi string that i had on my instrument for about two years with Dominant. Unfortunately the A string started to peel on the outter shell two weeks after setting the dominant on my instrument. It was very disappointing and I couldn't beleive that it was only because of the sharp finger nut as I had my evah pirrazi for a quite while. In addition, I always graphitize the finger nut and the bridge before replacing a new instrument. Once I contacted the seller, he did not admit that it could be the defective product and did not agree to send me a replacment. In general, the quality of the string was acceptable but much less than evah pirrazi. I just ordered another evah pirrazi and took off the dominant one.
Something wrong with the A string.

The dominant A string broke at the loop end when I was tuning. It has been used only for few hours on my second violin, since I have bought it. Some of other reviewers had the same problem. I am not a beginner.
Very Good Sound

I've been playing violin for 17 years and I used these strings in middle and high school, recommended by my instructor. I don't play as much anymore except in my dad's bluegrass band, so I ended up putting a set of much lesser quality strings on my violin. They just didn't sound good and I'm planning on joining a civic orchestra at a university, so I wanted to go back to the good stuff! I would recommend them to anyone who is invested in their instrument and wants top quality sound.
workhorse of the string world

What can I say... These strings are great. They've been my go-to all my 30+ years of playing. I've tried others, like Olivs, which are also lovely, but the dominant plus gold label e is a reliable set with a great sound and feel, not too expensive, versatile, and ubiquitous. Break one, and any violin shop will have a replacement in stock. They make a huge difference in the sound of an inexpensive instrument and help bring out the potential of a good one. Ive used them happily playing everything from mariachi to celtic to romantic period classical and have never felt limited by my strings. The only time they WEREN'T on my violin was during a time when I got semi seriously into baroque and switched my good violin to gut because it seemed the thing to do at the time. But even then I always had another instrument strung with dominants that I used for everything else. Buy with confidence, you can't go wrong.
Great Strings.

I just put this set on my 5 string Damiano Violin today. What a difference it made! I bought this violin about 8months ago and this is the first time I replaced the strings. I paid $3,000 for this violin and it sounds awesome. The strings needed to be changed and there are so many different types of strings out there I didn't know what to buy so I just went by the customer ratings. These strings had a lot of really good reviews so I bought a set. I can say that I am sold on these strings. They compliment the violin and they feel good under my fingers. They have a deep rich tone to them. I will definitely buy another set when needed. They are pricey but worth it.
