The saw works well for home use. I've cut fairly thick angle, rounds, flats,square tubing. It's been used for 4 months and the blade still cuts well. Not bad at all for the price.
What I don't like, is chips fly all over. The guard doesn't really stop that. I retrofitted my own to help knock down most of that. Also, more of an inconvenience, is the vice should have a quick release to tighten down stock. If you change stock sizes and angles, there is a lot of cranking. Maybe they have changed that on the new models.
For the price I would recommend this saw.

For the money, this is an impressive tool. I sliced through 1/2 by 3" steel plate with no trouble whatsoever. This exceeds the capacity that is recommended but if you take your time and let the blade do the cutting it will do a great job. The cut was clean and the steel was cool to the touch when I was finished. Just like in cutting with a miter saw for wood you let the blade do the work instead of trying to power through the wood. It's much safer and the tool and blade last a lot longer.

I'm a welder fabricator and use this saw all of the time a multitude of cuts in the field. From handrails or small part Fabrication this saw cuts exact and precise every time. I even threw away my abrasive saw this thing is that good.

I've made dozens of projects and hundreds of cuts with this saw and I'm still impressed with the quality of cuts that it produces. There was a bit of a learning curve as this is the firs dry cut saw I'd ever used but once I figured it out and matched the blade to the material I have been happy with its performance ever since. I used the blade that came with it until I got used to how to use the saw before I changed it and I'm glad that I did. Replacement blades are expensive but with good technique the blades last a long time so cost per cut is reasonable. And the quality of cut is awesome. You can use the saw to shave material or make the thinnest shims of you need to. Not many other types of saws could do what this one can.

I have four tips for using this saw:
1 - Wear ear plugs. The saw makes a terrible noise when it cuts steel.
2 - Match the blade to the material being cut. Blades are expensive but you'll get more life and much better cuts out of the correct blade.
3 - Clamp the material securely. If you let the material move or the blade chatter you will chip and destroy the blade quickly.
4 - Don't let the excess material fall back into the blade. The saw is capable of throwing that material through a garage door, I learned that the hard way.

Made mince meat outa my stock metals! You can feed it anything, steel, aluminum just about anything. If you really want accurate miter cuts dont use the angle gauge on the machine, Just measure it something more accurate then make the cut.
