I bought this as a Christmas gift for my grandson who thinks he IS a pirate. It looked so much better in person - looked expensive. He LOVED it and has shown all his friends. Even if you just use it as a display it is very pretty. I can't say how it actually is when looking through it, but an 11 year old was happy. :)

This is very cute and my pirate obsessed kids initially loved it. I only gave it 4 stars because it's virtually impossible to focus on anything, which caused tears for my daughter. If you only want it for a prop it's a good choice but skip it if you're looking for something functional.

Junk. The box is cheaply made. Mine was broken when it arrived. It doesn't actually make things larger than they are. The telescope is a good prop. But I don't have a lot of hope that it will last very long.

I was worried about the quality when ordering this product, but I could not be happier. The box and telescope are both very nicely made and arrived just as pictured (with no off odor - as others have complained about). It is made with glass, so yes..if a child drops it there is the possibility of breakage.
Realistic play prop for kids!

I used this in my K5 graduation play as a prop for my ship's captain. It was very realistic looking for a 5 year old. It was the perfect size. When you look through it, things actually look larger too! The other kids all wanted to be the captain just so they could use it!!
