GREAT PRODUCT
LatinTemptressAugust 2, 2017
IT WORKS! After many failed attempts at retaining black dye, I used this and voila! Highly recommend for black police pants. Its cheaper to re-dye than to keep purchasing new pants.
Works great to keep fabric from bleeding.

Really makes quitting fabric maintain its color. After all that work sure don't want fabric to bleed onto the quilt pieces. I'm going to try it on brand new navy denim jeans to help retain the color.
Stable color

Works as described on factory dyed cottons. I buy large orders of dark, dyed denim which bleeds like a stuck pig when wet and ruins everything in its path. RETAYNE WORKS! (fyi it does not work on odd lots of polyester or silk sarees such as I have tried it on, but it's not advertised to do so)

Super impressed.
Must have for quilting and blue jeans!

I recently had a near quilting disaster. I was in a hurry to make a baby quilt and didn't prewash the cotton material. The top was sky blue and white and I backed it with a beautiful maroon print. About half way through the quilting process, I noticed my fingers were a little red. I hoped it was hard work and not bleeding material but after soaking a scrap in a little soapy water, I couldn't deny that the red material was bleeding. I didn't have time to remake the quilt and I certainly didn't want the white on the top to turn pink since it was for a little boy. I searched solutions on the internet and decided to give Retayne a try. I ordered here on Amazon and was able to finish the quilting and binding by the time it arrived. I estimated the amount of material and put the proper amount of Retayne in a warm water wash with the finished quilt and said a few prayers. When all was said and done, the quilt came out of the dryer with no pink. The maroon backing was a bit faded, but I attribute that to the material being over dyed. I will never be without Retayne again and I will prewash all my quilting material with it.

I've also used this product on jeans. The blues and blacks seem to stay that way on the jean I've washed with Retayne when they were new. Others seem to fade a bit with each wash. I also used it on some shirts I bought online. Previous shirts from the same company, in different prints, faded badly the first time I washed them. The two new ones I bought in May are still bright after about a dozen washings. I simply washed them in warm water and Retayne when they first arrived and the color seems to be set. I highly recommend this product to other quilters in my area. The only drawback is that we can't find it locally.
