I love the feel of the pieces

I love the feel of the pieces, the weight is perfect, and I love the wood smell. These are priced great for the quality you get. I like the wooden box they are in as well. They all fit and it looks very nice.

These chess pieces are nicely sized and appropriate for wooden, tournament-sized chess boards. Staunton is the name of a famous chess player who used to win matches all over Europe and made chess pieces, too.

I've been looking for years to find chess pieces to go with my old marble chess board (the marble pieces broke )
These pieces have descent weight and look pretty good. The box is great to store them in.

Great set for the money. I have other sets that are nicer, sure, but paid far more for them. At the price point for the Staunton No. 5 set here, I am very happy with them and they are my daily drivers. The set isn't weighted, but are made of quality wood and the craftsmanship is certainly above average. The box was much better than I had expected with a decent heft to it (not paper-thin as I was anticipating). I do wish it came with extra queens (just a standard, 32-piece set here). But I feel the price to value ratio certainly warrants five stars from me. Bonus: if my son or cat knocks over something and the piece gets a ding or mark, I'm not stressed like I would if that happened to the $100+ sets I have.

The feel of the pieces feel great. Carefully carved wooden pieces with amazing design. For the price, it is great value. I do wish they were just a tad bigger and heavier. I do like playing with heavier pieces, but they weight is correct and as advertise. 5 stars for the product and seller.
