great AND safe

I bought this water bottle because my other one was an older one. Being older with a "7" designation, I ceratinly was concerned about BPA's. While this one has the "7" stamp, it is also stamped "BPA-Free". Other reviewers seemed to think it is impossible to be a #7 and still be free of BPAs. That is incorrect.

While you are at it, google other info as well.
While there are #7 plastics that have BPAs, there are many that are safe. "7" just means it is made from a combination of plastics, so it most certainly be made for a comb
ination of plastics that are BPA free. I would NOT buy this bottle if it did not have the stamp "BPA-Free". I searched a long time for a water-cooler bottle that was safe. Most are made from polycarbonate, which certainly has BPA in it. I was thrilled to find this bottle and I feel much better about the water I am now drinking from my cooler.

Nice size water bottle

Great water bottles for the money. I have purchased 5 of these because the water where I live does not taste good. These are easy to handle when filled with water because of their size. It does hold 2 gallons and is very easy to fill. I even purchased to crock that sits on my counter of which this water jug sits on top of. These is even a good size for use in an RV if needed. If needed I would purchase this product again.
Just don't drop it

As other reviewers mentioned, the material is thin, but it seems sturdy enough to me, so long as I don't drop it.
Caveat: I have only had it for a few weeks, but it doesn't seem like it's a material that will deteriorate over time.
Of note, I have had other 5 gal. water bottles that were sturdier than this in the past, but in my experience, even those will break if dropped when full of water. 5 gallons of water weighs quite a bit, and anything but the sturdiest, and perhaps toxic, plastics will break if dropped when full. I for one am willing to take the small extra risk of breakage, if there is one, in exchange for the BPA free bottle.
About the cap: I purchased a water pump to use with this, from Amazon, called the Dolphin Pump. It fits perfectly on this bottle and pumps brilliantly, with no leakage.
The only reason I'm not giving five stars is that $25 is a lot to pay for a clear plastic five gallon water bottle.

Great Product!

After searching the web for the perfect BPA free 3 gallon water bottle, I decided on this one and am very glad I did. It is exactly what I wanted in a 3 gallon water bottle (I bought 4 and eventually plan to buy a few more). For a girl, these are the PERFECT size, or for anyone who doesn't want to BUST their backs trying to lift 5 gallon water bottles. I had also bought an "ez-pour" spout to help with NOT splashing water while turning the filled water bottle over to set atop my water crock, but I quickly found that there was no need. Since I do not have the little wire inside my ceramic water crock that pushes the little ball up to begin water flow, it was very difficult to get the water to flow (using the ez-pour), lifting the bottle and tilting several times to get the ball to move became very strenuous. NOT necessary with these 3 gallon water bottles. They are light enough to simply turn over quickly withOUT splashing water. These bottles are very easy to use and I am extremely happy with my purchase.
So Far So Good

I ordered one of these about a month ago, and today ordered a second one. I have mine sitting on my kitchen counter-top in my RV, and have a Dolphin brand manual water pump attached to it. I wanted to try this system out for a few weeks before purchasing a second one. I can't rate it 5 stars yet, as I haven't had it that long to determine the durability. I will be using both of these this coming winter while boondocking in my RV, at which time I will come back and update this product review. By the way, I won't forget because I'm curious as to how these bottles will hold up. And will ultimately buy 2 more simply for the convenience factor. I figure I can fill up all 4 containers from remote drinking water vending dispensers, and when I use one, I can simply take off the pump and use the other one without refilling on the spot. All four can supply me with constant drinking water for at least one week. So, if they turn out to be durable these will be well worth the costs, and pretty much hassle free.
*Also I purchased both of these for $17.99 each including Prime Free shipping. It appears that sometimes the unit is listed for free shipping and other times its not, so its best to keep checking over several weeks and buy it when it goes on prime free shipping.
NOTE: Prior to purchasing these I had looked all over the internet for the dimensions, and never found any so in case you need the dimensions, it is 14 inch High and 9 inches wide, and the opening is the same size as all the other 3 and 5 gallon jugs.
UPDATE: 2/15/2013 - I've been using these since July, and then in September I relocated my RV to the dry desert, and started to use 4 of these water containers. So, as of now I've gone through part of the summer, all of the fall and part of the winter using these containers throughout the day, and I can't believe they haven't cracked yet. These containers hold all my drinking and cooking water. I cycle through one every other day. No signs of aging or cracks or anything else. The dew caps still screw on tight with no leaking. I think I'm safe to say that these containers are pretty rugged, especially being exposed to the dry heat too. Also, the dolphin pump I use on the top, hasn't failed me yet either. They both have served their purpose and made my life a little more simple. I have no issues with these water containers at all, and I'm very happy that I purchased them. This will be my last update, unless at which they do break or start leaking I will report on how long they ultimately lasted.
