I have a recumbent trike, and I wanted to install a fender that was lightweight, and that could easily be added or removed. Most of the time I'm riding on dry roads, so I didn't want a fender that was permanently installed. This product works great for this purpose.

I've also had problems with previous fenders making a lot of noise. However, this one is quiet. It doesn't rattle at all.

Just got it in today. Everything about this order was perfect.

It came with 2-day shipping from Amazon Prime. The packaging was excellent. The product itself feels strong, sturdy, and resilient. It doesn't wiggle and it doesn't make my bike look horrendous. It fit on my 700x38c bike easily and it has three adjustment points (one for the stem, and the other two for the angle of the fender).

I am incredibly pleased and happy with this product and would absolutely recommend it for anyone in the market for a rear fender. Whoever designed this did an amazing job. It was clearly built by someone who understands biking and fenders. Makes me very happy.

I got this and the M1 (front) fender to keep the skunk stripe off my back in wet weather. I only use this for commuting -- not for offroad rock/dirt protection -- so keep that in mind.

Overall, this fender is great quality, and is very versatile. The quick-release clamp actually fits over the seat tube on my '05 Dakar FS. I mention this only because it is designed to fit on the seat post, but the mechanism can be "unscrewed" to fit a lager diameter. The main (black) plastic is rigid, but the tip (gray part) is soft/flexible. This is great for when you -- or someone else -- accidentally bumps into it. The design allows you to set not only the height, but the slope as well.

The vertical adjustments lock down with Allen head screws, which is where my *minor* issue comes into play. Even fully screwed-in, the fender can be moved up and down -and- side to side fairly easily. Perhaps this is engineered to keep the rigid nylon pieces from snapping?

Although somewhat irrelevant to this item, I *did* encounter an issue with the M1. It broke at the mount on the first day I had it. The customer service at Topeak is awesome though, and I got a replacement part in 2 days!

Easy to install. I've read issues about durability in colder climates. I live in Arizona, not worried about brittle plastic. I've read about issues with integrity and strength of the fender. It is a fender used to keep rocks and whatnot from kicking up on to you. It does that just fine.
I have an issue with the packaging of the product and that it seems to have been previously opened and then shipped to me (there are a few obvious signs). I have contacted the seller about these issues, but I am happy with the fender itself.

Other reviewers seemed to dislike this mud guard, but I bought the 2 best I could find on Amazon and did a side by side and these look better, install easier, are lighter and are as stable as anything you are going to find that's going to hang off of your seat post like these do. I wrapped electrical tape around the post a few times before installing so that there was more to grip. I also put thread glue on the screws at the joints. I had no "shaking" or loosening on my gravel ride. I don't know how these will work long run, but they passed my acceptance testing. And they kept the mud off of my jersey!
