First Impressions are very, very good

After my 2nd set of the cheap Wahl's burned out in 4 years, I decided I wanted an upgrade from the base model with the colored attachments. This set, for under $50 has so far exceeded my expectations. The unit feels significantly higher quality, from the cord to the body. The motor is smoother, and the blades are significantly more precise. Also, this comes with half-numbered attachments which are a huge help for doing fades. At this price, it is a worthwhile upgrade.
cheap, weak motor burns out

The advertising states that this is "intended for professional use", this is BS. I bought this device 4 years 9 months ago. I use it every 3 weeks, very simple usage, I just use the #2 guide and clip my head and beard. If you do the math that works out to 82 times I have used the clipper. For a while now I have noticed it getting hot during use. Now it shuts down well before I can finish clipping. I have to shut if off and wait for it to cool a few minutes. If I was a professional using this clipper I would expect to use it 82 times in the first few weeks. Not exactly "professional" quality.

This clipper has not performed as well as cheaper versions of Wahls that I previously owned. I've cleaned it, adjusted it, and kept it oiled, but it still has a hard time getting all of the hairs. I often find little strays that were left behind despite my best efforts to make several passes over the same spot. It's frustrating.

What an upgrade from our old clippers! These are quiet, cut nicely, and are so much nicer to use! This is a great affordable option for at home haircuts.

I bought these since I cut my own hair. Definitely one of the best clippers so far. I have no issues and they cut perfect.
