Attractive travel set.

Decent set for price. I put bubble wrap underneath the tray that holds the pieces as it was too flimsy and the pieces didn't stay in place. Otherwise, this is a good little travel set and very attractive wood pieces.

If you are buying this board for decoration it is probably a good buy. But for actual playing I don't think it is great in my opinion. The black squares are over designed compare to white squares that have no design at all and that is a destruction while playing. So buying a cheaper set of same kind that has no square design would be better in my opinion. Also pieces are missing paint in some spots so I returned this set since I was getting it for a gift.
This set would be nicer if the pieces were weighted ...

This set would be nicer if the pieces were weighted. The price is A-OK.
I have a board now so I can add other sets. Mostly, this set is for decoration. When I play Chess I do it against a computer on-line.

This is a wonderful chess set - high quality and their customer service is responsive. We were happy to receive this set - did not take long at all to receive. We tend to, from time to time, leave a game unfinished at our breakfast bar that has high bar stools. I was disappointed to see the morning after we left an unfinished game the night before that one of the unmoved chess pieces was missing! We believe our poodle who likes to jump on those chairs snatched a piece (he is fine no medical issues at all he may have hid it - we looked everywhere with no other explanation). Anyhow, I was really disappointed because I love this set and the piece was no where to be found. I contacted the seller after our extensive search and with no questions asked, promptly put another piece in the mail. The funny part was when I emailed them the story they said they would send me the piece with a little smiley face at the end of the email. I could not be happier with this purchase. Again, high quality and customer service is great. THANK YOU!
