I BOUGHT TWO OF THESE ABOUT A YEAR AGO. I RUN SIX FEEDERS YEAR AROUND ON MY RANCH AND MORE DURING THE SEASON. THESE ARE THE FIRST WILD GAME TIMERS I'VE USED. MY EXPERIENCE WITH OTHER TIMERS IS THAT WITH A SOLAR CHARGER I CAN GET A YEAR OR MORE OUT OF THE BATTERIES. WITH THESE TIMERS I HAVE TO CHANGE BATTERIES EVERY THREE MONTHS. I'VE CHECKED FOR SHORTS TRIED VARIOUS BATTERIES INCLUDING WILDGAME BATTERIES AND HAVE REACHED THE CONCLUSION IT HAS TO BE THE TIMERS. I DON'T KNOW WHY OR HOW BUT THE TIMERS ARE ALL THAT' IS LEFT AND THEY ARE BOTH DOING THE SAME THING.

We use several feeders to attract deer. The WI power control unit is pretty much our standard replacement. The unit works wells and is fairly robust, though it is not waterproof (and it doesn't seem water resistant). The most frequent cause of failure is water infiltration. The unit is intuitive and easy to program. The test cycle has a delay so you don't get pelted with corn/feed during a live test. I would prefer a slightly different design in the wiring, but it is simple to clip the existing wires and install whatever connectors you prefer. Overall, a good product.

First, I bought this against my better judgement being that I have YET to purchase anything under the WGI brand that lasted past 1 year. This is the same. Went to check the feeder and the controller is on the fritz. I have lots of problems out of this controller but managed. Now, nothing. WGI, consider this the last purchase of your junk brand.
