Works perfect for a full size Ruger SR 1911. The fit was pretty tight at first but after a few days it's absolutely spot on. It does cover the end of the muzzle about an 1/8" also. The inside is unlined so I guess it could be hard on gun bluing or another type of finish over time. I've had several Galco products over the years and been happy with all of them. And they are USA made too!

Great holster. Bought it for my Magnum Research Desert Eagle 1911GR, which has a picatinny rail. This holster isn't really made for a 1911 with a rail, but I bought their leather care kit, and worked the leather lotion in there 3 or 4 times. Now that I've left my pistol sitting in the holster for a few days and worked it in and out a few times it fits very well.
You can tell that the leather is good stuff. Looks like it will last a lifetime or two if you take care of it. Feels comfortable on my hip after wearing it all day, and doesn't get in the way. Overall I'm very happy with it.

This thing fits great on my hip. You really do need a stiffer belt in order for this to work properly. My Colt Gold Cup fit perfectly. It was tight, but not too tight. I will definitely only be buying Galco products from now on.

Great quality. Retains my 1911 perfectly. Not too tight, not too loose. Continues to look great despite lots of abuse. I have even used it in steel challenge competitions where I need to draw before shooting. Not made for that, but did fine.
Oh, and when I open carry when dressed up nice this is my holster of choice. Dang do I look sexy. Great accessories are so important.
