Great basket with a big but

This is a very nice well made basket. But it's very large and heavy. So heavy that my aluminum 630 cruiser falls over from the weight. It would probably work good on a heavier steel frame bike. It weighs almost 8 pounds so I'm returning it and getting a smaller and much lighter one made by the same company.

This is a large basket. I thought about getting a soft basket, I am glad i bought this one. My bike has fell over several times and not a mark or dent. It does not get in the way of anything and was easy to install. My 20 pound Schnauzer/poodle loves it. The only issue is the bike. When it is on the kickstand you have to turn the wheel the other way or it falls over. Even a smaller basket would do the same if it had stuff in it.

This basket is great, I wish I would've bought it sooner! It is very sturdy. I went grocery shopping and was able to put 2 full paper bags of groceries in it. I also like to put a blanket on the bottom and take my 17 lb dog for a ride. I do this daily, and he loves it! It is heavy however, so you have to be careful when you park your bike. I have a beach cruiser, and it will fall over if I don't turn the wheel a certain way to park it. Please hold on to the handlebars if you put your dog or groceries in it while parked. Also, sometimes it doesn't fit in the bike rack. With a beach cruiser, you can either lift it so that the basket is over the rack, or park it on the side. It really depends on the bike rack.
Sturdy construction, but assembly is not fun.

I hated the instructions and assembly, I threw my hands up after trying to hold both a wrench and screwdriver on either side of the screws, while supporting the weight of the basket between my elbow and knee. I usually don't have a problem with asembling things but I walked away from this one. Hubby had to finish it. Now that it's on the bike I can't wait to use it. It is sturdy and not going anywhere. It is nice and roomy, and will be perfect for my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel to ride in. It would even hold a second one! :)

This is an excellent product. I bought it to put my 19lb king charles spaniel in as he hated his trailer and most dog specific baskets only carry dogs up to 14lbs. I put a folded fleece blanket in the bottom and it supports his weight easily as it's very sturdy. He seems to have mixed emotions about it but he's much happier in the basket than he was in the trailer. He's almost jumped out twice, once when he saw a squirrel and once when he saw the beach (he loves the beach). If I was really concerned I could make a leash attachment.
If you have a quick release on your bike tires you will have to go to the bike store to get some screws but that was easy enough, they gave them to me no charge, and it was easy to install. I found the instructions easy to follow and you only needed minor tools (a screw driver and a wrench)
I had no problems with the package delivery.
