I purchased this item for my 5 year old grandson. It is made of heavy plastic and looks fairly realistic for the price. Light weight and easily added to his set that goes around the Xmas tree. Would recommend this for younger kids but it is not what a real novice would want for an extensive, complex layout.

I liked this but, it was not what I expected. It is really large. Not that that is a bad thing. It will be great add on to train set. I will probably order more from this company.

Did not meet my needs so I had to return it. That being said, it appeared to be a nice unit and could easily be built into a scenic layout.
