I just moved my entire life across the country thanks to this amazing glorified duffle bag! I moved from Chicago to Southern California and drove through every type of weather, rain, sleet, snow, desert... nothing got wet, nothing was damaged. No tears. I absolutely love this thing. I took many reviewers advice and made sure to pack it really tight/full, and did not open it until I got to my destination in a warmer climate. It snowed the day I arrived in Colorado all day and my car was parked outside with this carrier on top and it was absolutely fine :-) if I needed another one, I would buy that one as well. I invested in some more serious straps to hold down the drag for the longer drive, but other than that I am very satisfied with this product. Easy peasy, folded it up and packed it away for my next adventure. Also bought a mat that is like yoga mat material to put on top to avoid sliding on my roof.

We have a Chevy traverse which doesn't have a luggage rack. I discovered this luggage carrier and how you could run the straps through the vehicle if no roof rack was available. This worked perfectly for us. Easy set up and take down. Of course added tons of room in the vehicle. I had to use a carabiner for each strap to hook the loops together inside the car which did not come with the carrier (no big deal). I ended up setting the carrier up the night before we left for vacation and of course it literally rained all night long so rain water ran down the straps and got onto the front seats and 1 car seat. This is why I gave it 4 stars but I'm sure you'll have that with any product you run through the doors. However, it did rain for a solid 4-5 hrs on our way south and no water got into the vehicle at all, only when sitting still for long periods of time. Otherwise, all of our stuff stayed bone dry and had no issues with flapping noises or rips/tears. I did make sure all corners were filled with rounded luggage and no sharp edges were poking the sides. Small towels worked well for padding if needed. Would definitely recommend this carrier.

Spent a week or so researching what type of roof top carrier we wanted to use when we moved cross country and found this one Amazon which fits our needs perfectly. I made a short list of things I wanted in a roof top carrier; 1. water proof 2. Min. 6 cu ft 3. easy to put up/take down 4. no permanent mounting screws/holes. The Rightline Sport series of car top carriers fit all those requirements and was not expensive as some of the better known brands. Well built, sturdy and quality material are throughout this product. The self sealing zippers are a great feature to aid in the water proofing. We encountered some snow and rain in our cross country drive but all our items in the carrier were dry. Also, once the carrier was secured, it didn't move a bit, very stable and did not flop around. We did fill it out to help with that but with an eye on roof top weight rating of our SUV and careful mounting it was solid. If you are looking for a great, water proof carrier that holds a lot and is easy to secure(and stay secure) look no further.

This bag literally saved my life. We road tripped from Florida to Washington, over 3,000 miles, and this bag was full to the max. Each day we would pack it, drive up to 500 miles, get to the next hotel, unpack it and then again the next day. (We could have bought a lock but I didn't trust that) Thus bag withstood rain, snow, heavy wind, sand, everything. It was packed and unpacked 7 times. It fit for 32" duffle bags and a couple other smaller bags with room to spare. We used the through the window method of tie down. Just be sure to read the instructions before you use it, as the ties can be a little complicated to get set up. Overall, this bag was AMAZING!

Tough, strong, weatherproof carrier that you can cram all of your things into but the strap clasps are crap plastic. Everything went well till I pulled the straps tight and two of the holding clasps snapped. The straps are not the kind of protection I want when I'm driving down the interstate. I went to Home Depot and bought some straps with metal clasps.

Otherwise the unit itself is good quality. If you're working in cold temperatures the vinyl is hard to work with and zip closed. Not too much road noise and even with the new straps I made sure I checked their tightness at every road stop or gas station fill up. After time any strap will stretch so it's good to check their tightness. With the stock straps I was too concerned that the clasps would snap whenever I tightened them.
