Excellent item. Well made. It will tenderize your tougher cuts of meat such that they become like butter. Bought two for myself and multiple others for family/friends. I bought this after seeing one used by a friend. We buy a lot of top round (London broil) cuts of steak in order to save money. It's a cheaper cut of meat and tends to be somewhat tougher than the more expensive cuts. This tenderizer is the great equalizer. With a few concerted thrusts it can turn a tough cut of meat into a tender one.

It's simple to use, easy to keep clean and it makes a huge difference in our enjoyment of the steaks we buy.

Much-needed to tenderize grass-fed meats. The 48 blades work fast to do the job. It does take two hands for me to push down, and while it's dishwasher safe, I pour boiling water over the blades immediately, and use a stiff soapy brush to clean it. There are 3 rows of blades, and the center row is difficult to clean with a brush. Comes with a cover for safe drawer storage.

We use this in conjunction with our vacuum marinating system and it works wonderfully. It allows ample penetration of the marinate or rub, especially when there is a short amount of preparation time allotted.

If you use this with a marinade, you can typically get full flavor within a couple of hours, if you use this with a rub, you may want to leave it overnight, or at least 12 hours to let the rub mix with the juices in the meat. We typically run it through the vacuum marinator, then seal it in a freezer bag or vacuum bag right after to let it sit. Typically the thinner the marinade, the faster it sinks in.

Alton Brown showed this type of tool on one of his shows, and being a kitchen gadgetaholic, I had to try. I am so glad I did. This tool works GREAT. Not only does it tenderize the meat, but because of the little holes created by the blades the marinades and rubs penetrate the meat deeper resulting in a better flavor.

I like it so much better than my old mallet. It does a better quicker job. You do not need to cover the meat with plastic wrap, there is minimal mess, and clean up is easy.
