Works fast I was shocked

This stuff worked quick. I found a stray kitten, and I have not been able to get him to let me deal with his ears. Within like, 30 seconds of using this, my kitten of course was shaking his head trying to get the stuff out. And literal chunks of ear gunk/crust came out. Tried it a few more times, of course the kitten hated it and kept shaking his head, but every time he did you could see chunks of stuff coming out of his ears. Now imagine how good it would work if the kitten would cooperate"¦ lol
Wether it works or not.

Having a five month-old pup, we got used to the little puppy scratches that he does - no fleas or hotspots but it's pretty commonly accepted that puppies scratch more than adults. It was because of this that it took a few days of our pup shaking his head periodically for me to realize that his ears were actually bothering him. Taking some lukewarm water and some cotton wool I cleaned out the outer ears as best I could, and found all sorts of ear wax and what looked like mud in the outer ear. Taking a flashlight I took a deeper look in his ear, and saw a ton of buildup. Then I remembered him digging in the dirt at the dog park.

Knowing that water wasn't going to cut it, and not wanting to use our emergency vet fund on something this simple early on, I jumped on Amazon and came across Zymox. The reviews were very promising, but with no experience with this product it was a gamble whether it would work or not. With overnight shipping I had it the next day, and was ready to use it.

TIPS/DIRECTIONS:
1) Make sure your pup has had plenty of exercise and is tired out. This is easier to use while he's laying down.
2) Put your dog on his side, affected ear facing up
3) Thoroughly wash out with Zymox without squirting hard into the ear canal. This could damage the drum.
4) Turn your pup on to his other side (affected ear facing down) and massage the ear from the base, allowing the cleanser to come out onto a paper towel
5) Be grossed out at all that comes up.
6) Use cotton wool or a SOFT paper towel and with outwards strokes bring as much wax/debris out as possible
7) Repeat immediately if necessary, then once a week for overall ear health

A LOT of dirt came out of his ear - the poor thing we had no idea that it was that blocked up!! A quick inspection with the flashlight again showed that it was almost completely clear of debris - and we are allowing a few days for the enzymes to work on overall health. He hasn't shaken his head since, and I almost think he can hear better!

He's a good pup, and we're glad he's more comfortable. I would read through all of the reviews for this product - not only does it clean your dog's ears but it kills bacteria and clears up ear infections to boot! We'll be keeping a bottle on hand for any future use, and HIGHLY recommend giving it a try!!
Better than Expected

OK, first -- bought this by mistake to start. For acute ears you want 'Zymox Otic with Hydrocortisone 1%' (Zymox Otic Pet Ear Treatment with Hydrocortisone). So we picked that up and used it for 7 days. Every morning squeezing in enough to fill the bottom of the canals. Our 5 year old GSD has had her share of ear 'infections.' Invariably that leads to vet, antibiotic drops or pills, cortisone. Invariably the ears get red and 'musty' again, especially during humid NJ summers in cut grass.

7 days in and the redness and head shaking was gone. Now we wondered - the enzymes or the cortisone...

We started twice per week cleaning with this Zymox Ear Cleanser With Bio-Active Enzymes after the initial week. Did that for one week and am now doing once per week ear cleanings and -- we're 3+ weeks post first use and not only are her ears not red, they're even a bit less than pink. A perfect hue with absolutely no yeasty smell. And the light wax she now has is white to clear, not brown.

A 2nd issue she gets is her lower belly with get a staph circle from all of her exercise. It leads to the same cycle - vet, pills. So, we just picked up Zymox Pet Spray with Hydrocortisone and 1 week in the belly is almost 100% clear. Have Zymox Medicated Antibacterial Pet Rinse on order as a, hopefully, maintenance product sans the cortisone.

Purchased all the products mentioned above locally. Much costlier so now we use AMZN to keep them stocked up. But in talking to the pet store owner, she said A) Most purchasers have similar stories to us and B) She can't keep Zymox on the shelves.

I had the same worry that you do -- that these great reviews were not legit. Check my reviews from the past. This one is. If we could we'd own a barrel of Zymox and DIP our German Shepherd into it once a month :)

Fingers crossed that this continues to keep her ears clean and healthy. Vets need to look into this before scripting the amoxicillin so quickly...for $60 bucks.
Used this and Ivermectin to finally get rid of cat's ear mites..finally found something that works...

This stuff works great and I used this to clean my poor cat's ears and also bought Ivermectin on Amazon.

You might not need to buy Ivermectin too. I bought both this ear cleaner and ivermectin, and this ear cleaner seemed to do a great job on it's own. So, if you have cat's ear mites, try this first because it's not crazy strong and just a good ear cleaner.

My cat had a bad ear mite problem so I bought both Ivermectin and this ear cleaner worked within one day at killing and cleaning out most of her ears that were filled with brown, waxy ear mite debris and gunk.

Be really careful when using Ivermection*** (separate product)***I used about three drops of ivermectin mixed with jojoba oil and dropped in in my kitty's ears to kill her ear mites. The mites also will crawl on cat's faces and on the chin and look like coffee grinds (that's mite poop, nice, I know) and so run with a cotton ball a little of the jojoba oil/Ivermectin mix on their chin too if you see dirty, coffee grind looking stuff on their chin.

This caused a huge flare up in the mites that were living under her chin skin, but it seems to be killing them all and I use a warm wash cloth to loosen the nasty, bloody crust that came up and revealed pink skin underneath her chin. The Zymox cortisone seems to help soothe the pink, new skin too and is like a silicone texture that doesn't sting.

BE REALLY CAREFUL WHEN USING THE IVERMECTIN IF YOU BUY IT FOR EAR MITES AND READ ALL THE REVIEWS SO YOU DON'T USE TOO MUCH AND POISONS/KILL YOUR CAT. THAT IS FOR A SEPARATE PRODUCT** IVERMECTIN***

BUT THIS EAR CLEANER IS NATURAL AND PEOPLE BUY IT TO HELP KILL CAT EAR MITES. IT SEEMS TO WORK WELL KILLING EAR MITES AND GETTING RID OF A BAD EAR MITE PROBLEM, YOU MIGHT NOT NEED IVERMECTIN IF YOU BUY THIS SOLUTION FIRST AND TRY IT

My cat's had them off and on for 10 years and they are a hassle to get rid of. My cat goes in and outside so she picked it up from outside cats.
