I could not be happier!
Tahoe JohnnyMay 15, 2018
I was debating between the REI stool, which we know will always be top quality, and this one from GCI which is usually great quality. It just arrived and I cannot imagine being happier! I am 6' 215 pounds with two recent full knee replacements. My concern was would it be stable with my weight and would it be too low to get back up. I was pleasantly surprised at how stable it was and the height was perfect. It was very easy to get up without needing to use my hands although you could use the front frame to lift yourself if need be. If folds very compactly and do not see an issue attaching it to my camera bag, back pack or even belt look but I think it would get annoying quickly. The shoulder strap is way to small to use as that. The case is very durable and not the think nylon you find on cheap folding chairs. Not sure what I would use the bottom shelf for but it is a nice extra. I saw other reviews about comfort which is plain dumb. This is a STOOL, not a relaxing chair. Of course I could not sit in all day, why would you think you could? Very happy and will likely buy another one as I could see a friend wanting to have one to avoid lugging a chair or using a rock.
Lots on the market, this is the one you want.

This is the one you want! It is light weight, doesn't tip easily, folds up small, and is reasonably comfortable for the size.

I bought this to take with me for a line I knew I was going to have to be in for over an hour. It was perfect!

When folded up, it fits in a water bottle sling holder, which is great. It unfortunately doesn't come with one of those, but I had one I bought at a camping store.
Small and Lightweight

I was looking for a stool that would pack small - under 24-inches - and found very few. This one folds down to a size similar to a folding umbrella (15-inches), and is lightweight. I am a small woman and weigh less than 110 pounds, so I can't say how well it would support heavier weights, but when I paint "en plein air," it's easy to carry. When open, the seat is 20-inches off the ground, which is easy on my knees and yet not too high, so that I can still reach down to the ground for my palette, brushes, etc. Some have mentioned it being uncomfortable, but I find if I place my behind toward the hypotenuse of the trianglular seat with the apex towards the front, it's comfortable enough. I wish the carry pouch came with a shoulder strap, but as it doesn't, I have simply attached my own.
Good idea, poor execution
Amazon CustomerMay 4, 2017
The basic design is good--the stool folds up into a convenient carry bag that can attach to belt or pack.

The quality is poor, though. The caps on the feet are simple thimble style closures, with no expanded ground contact area like some stools have. It didn't take long for one of the caps to sink into the ground and get pulled off when the stool was picked up. Never found it, so the washer and elastic string that works the fold-out operation were left exposed. Then, one corner of the "Anti-Splay Reinforcement Panel" pulled out of the leg, allowing that leg to extend too far out. As a result, that leg bent.

Although I like the design, I cannot recommend this product.
It goes with me everywhere

I'm 64 years old and just recently began having back problems, I can stand upright or walk only for 8 to 12 minutes. This packseat gives me the mobility I need, after a short time sitting I'm ready to go again.
I'm pleased with the comfort, compactness and quality. Since I've only had this a month I cannot yet speak for the durability, but if it wears out I'll be buying another. Call me a customer for life.

PS While sitting on it at a flea market a passing gentleman noted that it needed a beer holder.
