Tastes better than all the others, mixes better, overall better than competitors
Joe D✓ Verified PurchaseMay 12, 2018
I started out at around 110 pounds at 5'9'' and tried other mass gainers at the beginning of my lifting career, and I found them to be almost undrinkable and just overall not worth the hassle compared to shoving food down my throat and just drinking regular protein even if it would be a bit slower and harder on my stomach...and was able to bulk up to 170 at ~10% bf

I've noticed my appetite dropping a little bit recently and I'm also trying to push up to the top of the 83kg weight class, so my lower-than-average appetite being suppressed was making this even harder than it needed to be so I figured I'd give a mass gainer another shot.

This stuff tastes better than regular ON chocolate protein (tastes like chocolate milk to me, and I've drank a lottttttttttttttttt of different protein powders), plus it mixes just like regular protein even in whole milk. Amazingly easy to drink, ingredients look to be higher quality than competitors...

If consistently eating whole foods in a huge surplus is your problem like me, swap this out for your regular protein (1 serving is also 60g of protein, nice) and I'm sure it'll help you out quite a bit. It's pretty easy on my stomach too, and I generally have a weak stomach.

It's good stuff, for a mass gainer. If you're looking at mass gainers, you know there's cheaper/better options (making your own or just eating the food) but I honestly don't think I'd ever buy a different gainer after trying this one
ON Gainer Helped Turn My Life Around

This product may have been almost a life saver for me. I have been using it for 10 years. I became seriously ill about a decade ago and was losing weight for unknown reasons. I am 5'10" and used to weigh in the mid 160s prior to my illness. Finally after dropping to the upper 120s my doctor recommended that I try drinking gainer shakes though he didn't mention this product in particular. I happened to mention my weight loss dilemma to my brother-in-law who pointed me to this product. So glad that he did. I started out drinking two servings per day and usually add a scoop of ice cream to it in the blender. It tastes fine to me with plain water but the ice cream makes the drink pleasingly colder. Anyhow, this put a stop to my nose diving weight and gradually pushed me into the low 130s which helped me feel some relief about my condition. About a year later I joined a gym and started working out with weights 3 times a week at least an hour each time, plus did some weight lifting at home in between. Slowly, slowly my weight raised into a more respectable mid 140s after about a year of weight lifting exercices plus this product 2X a day. Roughly 3 years later with my weight seemingly stuck in the 140s I decided to reduce it to one serving a day. I always monitor my weight and it remained basically the same. About a year ago I reduced use of this to a half serving, 6 days a week. I continue to work out at the gym and at home like usual. My upper body strength has increased especially my arms/biceps/triceps and pec muscles even at the reduced half serving of gainer plus my usual scoop of ice cream in the blender. I am happy to say my weight over the last 6 months has been lifted to almost the same level as I had prior to my illness. I am currently bumping up on the 160 lbs mark. So I have been using this for 10 years straight now plus going at my weight lifting for nearly that long a time. When I look in the mirror I grin at the results I have had over this LONG period of time. But I give a lot of credit to this gainer product and my doctors who initially encouraged me to use something like this many years back. I tend to drink mine now in the mid afternoon after my gym or home workouts and in between lunch and dinner. It does sometimes take away my appetite a bit if I drink it too close to dinner, especially back in the beginning when I was drinking two servings a day. Now at half a serving the appetite loss is much less of a problem. Will I ever stop using this altogether? Maybe, but not just yet. I do think there is a correlation between using this after a workout and building your muscle tissue so I may eternally use this at half strength based just on that. By the way, adding a scoop of ice cream to it in the blender not only makes it tastier and creamier but also adds some extra calories and calcium (I believe). The double chocolate is my favorite and adding some mint ice cream is wonderfully tasty. I think overall this product tastes great, even those times that I simply use plain water without anything more.
Hit those macros and build some muscle

I'm six foot, lean at 165lbs, and very active. Getting enough calories to build muscle is tough for me. A gainer is a great weigh to hit your numbers and not pack on belly far during a bulking phase.
The taste is okay. Tolerable. But it's not loaded with sugar and fat like others. So that is the trade off. Must use a blender, as it's a lot of powder to mix.
Know that the scoop doesn't not provide an entire serving. Which is 165 grams. The scoop weighs twenty grams, and provides 120 grams at best.
Personally, I take half a serving with breakfast, then another half serving after a workout before dinner. A full serving is a lot of thick liquid to consume. And makes me feel to full. I'm finally hitting all my macros without feeling stuffed.
The Gains Are Real

I'm a collector of protein powder by heart and have tried quite a few different brands. This was my first time using a Gainer and was hesitant as of which way my body will receive the gains.

Turns out my body was in favor of intake of extra protein and carbs from this supplement. My diet is very good and changed my life through eating more greens and lean meat. This supplements me in the right way when I want that extra boost of muscle in the month.

I am saving this for the perfect time though as I am still transforming my body and will start taking this religiously when my initial goal is achieved.
Pro Gainer vs Serious Mass
PeterM✓ Verified PurchaseMay 22, 2017
After going through two bags of Serious Mass, I decided to try this. While the calorie content is the as high as Serious Mass, I much prefer this. Serious Mass left me full if I took a full serving, often leaving me not very hungry for my next meal. This in contrast leaves me still hungry. Double chocolate tastes good, mixes well, easy to drink and lots of protein. Highly recommended if you're looking for a high calorie shake to supplement your meals.
