This replaced the Zojirushi AH-PB10S 1-Liter Thermal Carafe. We had the previous since 2011. This is mainly used by my mother so I can't personally compare how well the two hold warmth. According to my mom, it is good. The one negative that stood out to me is the "polished" stainless steel. My fault for not reading the description thoroughly. This is just personal preference though. Initially, right out of the box it looks nice and shiny like a mirror reflection. However, it only took one day for water stains to appear. The previous model we had was "brushed" stainless steel and I prefer that. Anyway, we had the previous for about 6 years. Let's see how long we will keep this one for until we need a replacement. I'm not even sure if 6 years is considered good and long or short.

I purchased this to keep fresh coffee nice and hot for long amount of time. I typically make coffee in a French Press every morning which yields good quality coffee but not high quantity. When I have guests over, I found that I was constantly making multiple batches and the coffee that got left behind in the press would get cold and bitter after sitting a while. So, I decided that if I could get a carafe that holds heat well, I could keep fresh coffee nice and hot for a longer period of time.
This carafe not only looks great, it's built very well and keeps liquids hot for almost the entire day! I've had this for a while now and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality carafe that will keep things hot for a long period of time.

This is one great thermal carafe. Purchased this to replace an old glass lined carafe that finally broke after 10+ years of service. We tried a double walled stainless carafe that was not capable of keeping morning coffee warm till noon. We have never had good luck with stainless carafes. Heartily recommend this carafe to keep coffee warm after brewing. Coffee is even drinkable without reheating the next morning!

Bought this over a year ago to replace a glass vacuum sealed thermos we've had for over 30 years. This will keep the coffee warm a long time but not as long as our original carafe/thermos. I don't like the residual amount of coffee that ends up outside the cover (in the rim/spout area) that will spill out when you tip the carafe on its side. Unlike our original Thermos brand carafe from the 1980's, this one will leak a tiny amount if/when it gets tipped in the car while travelling. It's better than most of the others out there in terms of capacity and spillability and thermal insulation, but it doesn't match our 30-something original.

I have been through a few carafes here at Amazon and within a couple of hours...the coffee is cold. The last one was a real doozy. When you poured the lst cup out of it, it would pop like the seal had broken but then would not reseal. So...it got where we waited till others were ready for coffee before we poured more coffee. What a pain. This carafe? It's the bomb! I made coffee 6:00 this am and have been drinking out of all day and just poured a cup at 2:38 pm and it is still hot. Finally....a carafe that does what it is suppose to do. Also...I bought the plastic funnel to pour my 200 degree hot water in(which comes from my my electric AICOK that I bought here at Amazon) and I get the perfect cup of coffee ALL DAY LONG. It doesn't get better than this. :-)
