I am so happy with this purchase. I waited a couple of months before writing this review, because I wanted to see how the filter performed over time. We have city water that is very hard. I didn't realize how bad it was for my hair until I bought this filter. My hair is fine and slightly wavy, but has always had a lot of fly-always, and only looked smooth if I used a flat iron. I've tried every hair product imaginable to try to make it look smooth and shiny, and nothing ever worked to my satisfaction. This filter has made a huge difference! My hair is shiny and incredibly soft, and no more fly-aways. I noticed the difference immediately. I don't use any extra styling products on my hair anymore (just shampoo and a tiny bit of conditioner) and have not touched my flat iron in two months. The water pressure is great with this filter and I have not noticed any reduction in flow after two months of use. I don't know anything about the "science" of what this filter does as far as water quality, but I do know that my hair looks and feels amazing these days. I will definitely keep using this filter - for me, it works miracles!

my main reason for looking into a shower filter was for my kids (1.5 & 3.5 years old) who both have skin on the dry side and have patches of eczema. i bought this after a friend's suggestion (she uses one that you swish around in the bath water, but i don't give my kids baths - just showers in the bathtub) because her daughter's sensitive eyes would turn red from the bath water due to the chlorine.
it was only after the first 2 weeks that i noticed the difference in their hair and skin even with the same shampoo/body wash. my daughter's hair was silkier just after shampoo alone and if i used a dab of conditioner, it was like butter! i now condition her hair every other wash or so whereas before i would always have to condition it if i didn't want tears/cries while i did her hair. their skin is less dry using the same lotion (amount and brand), as well.
this is installed on the showerhead with our "hose" style showerhead attachment. needless to say, the filtered water only comes out of the showerhead and not the faucet at the bottom so when the kids DO take a bath, i just let it fill through the showerhead. also, you can't shut off the water anywhere past where the filter is installed at risk of it cracking - if you want a water-stopper, it needs to be installed before the filter which in my opinion wouldn't work at all because the filter itself pushes the entire showerhead out a good 6-7 inches. you'll just have to turn off the water mid-bath if need be.
i'm tempted to buy one for our own bathroom even though my husband and i are fine with the water as is... i DID shower in their bathroom last night just to see how it felt (it's been installed for a few weeks now) and yes, the soap feels silkier and after conditioning, so does the hair!
i would only give it 5 stars if i knew all chlorine was removed - which from previous reviews doesn't sound like it is. but, we're reaping some benefits so the kids bath will have this on from now on.

We have trouble with fairly hard water, and my hair was always limp due to the build up. A special clarifying shampoo would help for a couple days, but using it so often is very expensive. Enter shower filters. This one had great reviews, so I gave it a whirl last fall. It definitely seemed to make a difference. My hair was more manageable, and my natural shampoo was both easier to rinse from my hair and cleansed better. My hair was silky even with no conditioner.

We have well water, and we don't need to worry about fluoride or chlorine. Our water seems to be heavy towards minerals like calcium and iron too. Our water is on the border of moderate to extremely hard, so I decided to change the filter early at about 8 months, but I think it is well worth it. The installation is easy, and it works with our handheld shower head holder.

It is worth it!

This product is AMAZING. I swear I felt the difference while I was showering. There's really no way for me to explain other than the water felt cleaner. smoother. Keep in mind, the water in my county is really hard and filled with chlorine so for me. My skin felt 10x smoother the moment I got out of the shower and before I was fully dried. I can't remember the last time my skin felt so silky and soft.. even after applying lotion. I can only imagine the effects this will have on my hair (i just took a body shower and felt compelled to write this review. I'm still in my towel lol)
