Unbelievably Quiet!
Temaro✓ Verified Purchase•November 2, 2017
This pump is amazing. I bought it for a 120 gallon aquarium with a sump. The prior pump was LOUD - I had to place it on a piece of foam to try and muffle the vibrations. Even still I could hear it through the wall or from the room below. Then it started making weird noises like it was dying, so I thought I do a little research and see if I couldn't find something better.
I found the EcoPlus recommended on Aquarium forums as one of the quietest pumps out there. And by golly it is. It is so quiet that after I installed it, my roommate came to warn me that my pump had died and wasn't working because he couldn't hear it. In the same room I have a 20 Gallon also with a Whisper Filter on the back, and the trickle of water from that makes far more noise than the EcoPlus.
If you're looking for an ultra-quiet pump, this is the one!

Nice pump but ...

One minor issue.
The Eco 633 is a great pump AT the $32 price, so far so good, it's powerful, nice build, doesn't feel cheap either. I already expected to be pleased with it anyways because I had bought the Eco 396 over a year ago for water changes and running as a polishing filter and aerator and it's still running like a champ in a 55 gallon. So I just wanted to step up on the power since Ill be using it in a new a 125 gallon for the same purpose.
Shipping was fast but the packing could have been better, the box rattled as the pump shifted side to side since it has some weight to it. There was no cushion on the top or bottom, and being an electronic device I would have expected more bubble wrap around it to secure it.
Now the only problem with mine is that the strainer attachment is not the right size, it's a tad bit small and doesn't fit the input shaft, weird I know. It was just loose in the foam and i tried forever to get it on without success. So Im hoping I can get a new one to fit properly.
Other than that I like these pumps, they get the job done and confident that they will last a while with proper care,

Not suitable for inline use!

I bought this pump (185) for inline use but it is useless for this purpose. The fitting that connects the intake valve to the body/motor is flimsy, requiring only a 1/4" turn; the gasket is very thin. The result its that the seal is not air tight and it sucks air around this fitting, instead of water through the connected hose. There is no suction through the hose whatsoever. The intake valve falls off if there is any tension on the hose, which is normal when dealing with a 3/4" hose, due to its weight.
Seems to work fine when submerged, but if you are looking for an inline pump, look elsewhere.
Update: looked at the 396 version today and the connection seems more secure; it has a much beefier O-ring.

Don't let the low price fool you! The quality is there!

I was honestly more than impressed with this pump, I tend to shy away from cheaper aquarium pumps due to the risk of leak and ultimately failure, which if anyone who runs a sump knows, if the pump fails, you can get a decent mess, after doing my research I replaced my one 600gph pump with 2 of these, and wow, I am impressed, I love how they can be hooked up in-line, they are quiet, and move as much water as advertised. Very good product for the money.

We bought this pump to use for irrigating our garden from the small backyard "pond" that is fed by water from the basement sump pump. We figured the smallest size (75 GPH) would be just fine. However, the product information did not include anything about pumping height. The smallest unit only goes about 2 feet high, and wouldn't make it as high as our planter on the patio. Had to return it. But the box has a good chart on it, to help in a future purchase. Take a look at the photo attached, to see what size of a pump you might need.
