Great anchor. I painted mine
Amazon Customer✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 26, 2023
Great anchor. I painted mine. It looks real sweet red and silver. The cast metal was more porous then I expected but was filled in by the manufacturers paint. It left a little to be desired in regards to how it was assembled. I love it though. I'm going order a second to put on display and keep as a back up. Arived in a fair amount of time and was a good price. Do the make theses bigger?

So my good buddy and mine went on a two-week long graduation road trip and at one point ended up in a great lake with kayaks, 20-some islands 2-5 miles off the coast of Wisconsin, and this anchor tied to a 100-ft long paracord. I can't even begin to explain to you the beauty and enjoyment of paddling out into crystal clear Lake Superior on a warm summer day, tying your yak's together, and dropping this 5-lb baby down, down below, with a go-pro attached, into the abyss. Not only did we get some awesome footage, but it held us in place as we had our lunch, took our smoke break, fished up a couple tasties, or just sat around taking in the pure sunlight, the raw power. It was magnificent.

Not to mention, she held tight not only in the calm, reflective waters we felt on Wednesday, but also the 2-4 foot waves we had to deal with the last day, on the long haul. Man, it was a muscle-massacre and this anchor saved us from drifting back to the islands every time we had to rest!

I ended up selling this with my boat after I bought it so I never had a chance to use it. But it seems to be exactly what it says it is. I don't think I would want one like this however if I'm trying to Anchor myself on the sand. I would want one of those other ones that dig deeper. I'm sure it will work great out on the water though.
Good but not Great

Works good. Stays locked when you use the locking mechanism both open and closed. I use it for my intex challenger 3 inflatable boat and its pretty good. Sometimes the anchor lock gets stuck on one of the grapple arms when the arms are folded up in the lock position and is frustrating and difficult to twist it free. Not sure if all are like this or if its a defect. I might invest in a heavier one because i have alot of gear and sometimes an additional person in the boat and we drift a little. Good but not great. 4 stars
Very pleased

While I have yet to submerse the anchor I'm really happy with it as shipped. Nice and heavy. When folded up the arms are covered by a locking cover that slides down when the arms are deployed and covers the tips when folded up. Twist the part that covers the tips and it will stay put (lock) so that the arms don't deploy when in the bottom of the boat or car.

I saw the negative review about the size of the holes so I measured them with a tap measure. The bottom hole appears to be about 3/8" in diameter and the top hole appears to be about 1/2" in diameter.

ps. The picture listed is terrible. It looks just like all the other folding anchors of this type.
