Good product; must read what the others have already written - adjusts your expectations accordingly.
Good fit, good quality (albeit abit on the higher end) but really quite fitting the form of Indiana's hat). If buying this, need to ask yourself if you like a more hard feel for a fedora hat vs a soft feel hat (there is another model for this that is more soft-er material).

Personally, I like a more hard feel / form that maintains itself throughout use, hence that's why I opted for this particular model.

And of course, Indiana Jones Movie 5 comes out this year (2023).. what better reason to treat yourself with some self-love to buy this hat model to complete your indiana jones look.

First of, you need to know that the Dorfman Pacific makes more than one kind of Indiana Jones Fedora; there are at least two. There is the hard shell version IJ551, and the soft shell crushable model IJ557. I actually ordered the hard shell one from Think Fast (fulfilled by Amazon,) but received the soft shell version instead. I don't know how the 'fulfilled by Amazon' thing works, so I'm not sure if this was Amazon's fault or Think Fast's.

Now a small bit of background; I had received the hard shell model as a Christmas present. I really liked it, but it was a medium and my hat size is extra large. As it turned out, this was a re-gift item, so the giver was not in a position to exchange it. I liked it enough to get online and see if I could buy the right size myself, and was very happy to see they had them on Amazon. But as I said, I was sent the crushable instead of the hard shell, so now I own a medium hard shell and an extra large crushable, both from Dorfman Pacific, and am in a unique position to compare them both.

First, the hard shell one is a bit dressier. It has a very nice shape, and has a nice inner lining and inner leather band. It does have the Indiana Jones pin that everyone complains about, but it blends in with the hat so well you can hardly see it. It is very very hard and rigid though. This hat would easily be destroyed if sat on. The crushable one is much more basic; there is no inner lining and no leather band. It still looks nice but not as nice as the hard model; it reminds me more of the hat from Tom Baker's version of Doctor Who than Indiana Jones. In fact I just wore it to a science fiction convention as was complimented on my Doctor Who hat. It has the same wide outer band and Indiana Jones pin that the hard shell one has, but is a bit darker in color and does not keep its shape as well. The soft shell model is much more rugged looking than the hard shell model and is made of thicker material; the soft shell model is not quite as dressy but will last much longer, and will probably age much better than the hard shell model.

I did not have the sizing problems other reviewers have had. I knew I took an extra large hat size, so that's what I ordered, that's what I received, and it fits just fine.

So to sum up, both models are very nice; the hard shell is dressier and the soft shell is more rugged. If you want the hard shell version be careful what you order. And even if you are sure you ordered the hard shell, you may still receive the soft shell, as I did. I actually like the soft shell better, now that I've had a chance to compare the two side by side, so I'm keeping it even though it's not what I ordered.

Hat looks good. A decent version of an Indiana Jones hat. I like wool felt fedoras and this has a stylish look. It is, however, notably stiff and was uncomfortable to wear out of the box. I steamed it and reshaped it and now it fits well. If you like the look, going that extra mile would be worth it. Seller sent it out rapidly and in a properly size box.

A little steam treatment and I was able to shape it perfectly the way I wanted it to look. Fits great. I wear it all the time!

I think i need to sweat in it to make it mind own...lol great hat!
