I have a little head so this hat was too big. A little kleenex stuck in the brim helped. It doesn't have alot of depth so it wouldn't sit down on my forehead like I am use to wearing cowboy hats. Which reminds me, it does have more a look of an Aussie style cowboy hat than a fedora. Particularly if you have a small head; the brim appears larger.

Same hat my husband bought over 20 years ago. No leather band like the old one, just a ribbon. If you can live with that then the felt hat is the same as it was all those years ago....just twice the price, but hey, 20 years.

This is a really nice hat for the price. I did choose to remove the ribbon hat band, and added a small braided leather band of my own construction. Makes it look a little less "old dude" and more "outdoor explorations."

Got this to use as a Freddy Krueger hat. I cut the "edge" off the brim off, removed the band, rubbed it in the ashes of a fire pit, and it's perfect! I wear it with a silicone mask so I measured my head and got the size that was "one up" from that. Fits awesome.

Okay, so basically, It is not the hat from movies, and it doesn't look like the one in item picture, however, the hat is great, cheap and I have in mind to wear it a lot. It is soft and feels good. As others, I don't like all the movie merchandise, especially the pin. It left 2 marks in the ribbon. It's crushable, It's a good rain hat. One friend said I looked like a cowboy, maybe I will try the steam to make the brim flat, just maybe. The crown is 4 inches high and the Brim is 2'5 all around. It looks almost the same. My camera capture it more greenish but it is brown. I will update the review later...after some adventures... (Indy's theme ;) ).
